They patended today a controller with scrolling (or as I heard it rotating) shoulder buttons.

It is still unclear if this is a new Wii U controller or a thing for the Nintendo NX (their new console)

again, what's the problem? can't they design a controller for their new system (I strongly doubt they're going to invest more money in the wii u)?

Uhh.. I have not used it so I don't know what the problem is?

And it could still be for the Wii U, as they are still making games for it..

I was referring to this sentence

I really hope they have more of a plan than this patent is letting on.

Ok...the Wii U's current controller is hard enough to use for long periods of time as it is....

Could just a patent on the idea of scrolling wheels. There are too few buttons for it to replace a Wii U or 3DS set up. What is could be is some sort of mobile phone of mobile controller add-on?

I guess the mobile things makes some sense, especially if they want to support physical controls on their mobile titles.

Damn Nintendo seams more excited lately to patent crap then actually making games. I'm really starting to regret ever buying a WiiU

The WiiU's controller is fine as it is though... It's comfortable to hold and easy to use (unless you're trying to quit a Smash Bros. game). This new controller does look awfully like a "redesigned" WiiU controller, but it could very well be for their NX console.

I'm not regretting buying mine, but it has been sitting there for a few months not being played... Mainly because the only thing I played on it was Mario Kart, and I beat that game many times over in all sorts of ways. Splatoon is fairly fun though, but I can't seem to play more than an hour or two of it at any given time. So I mean...those are good games, as is Smash Bros., but other than that, the WiiU landscape is a little bare... I am excited for the Zelda game though! That new Star Fox game though... It looks really crappy to be honest, but I'll wait for more footage...

(As a side note, I haven't seen you around in forever, so hello.  :D)

Yeah my daughter and I play Mario kart and smash bros all the time. The games that are out almost all of them are good games but games are not pouring out for the console like the other consoles. The plus to that though is when games come out for the wiiu they are good titles at least but, owning every game for the wiiu didn't take very long to do, which I think that's were I'm disappointed the most at. I'm craving more games lol and last night I was going through Newegg looking for any new titles to get and I got pretty sad when I seen the release date for Zelda at the end of 2016 :( i haven't looked into the real release date for the game, was going to do that tonight but just knowing that it will be quit a while was really got me diapointed, even though I know the wait will be worth it.

I come on every night just lately haven't posted all that much lol. I'm mostly in the build logs or gpu section as of late. I'm glad to see you are still going strong in the news section. I like reading your articles the most :D
