ISP Late Night Throtteling

Go to solution Solved by TetraSky,

There's TunnelBear, which was a sponsor for the WANshow not that long ago. $50 a year. (I believe they have a chrome extension smartphone apps.)

https://www.tunnelbear.com/pricing/

Private Internet Access is currently $40 for the year (they also have an android app)
https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/buy-vpn/

Holy shit Batman, I just tried out the chrome vpn plugin by Hola and now youtube/twitch load totally fine!

When I upgraded (recently) from 2Mbps TWC to 30Mbps WOW, I thought I could watch youtube and twitch streams and all kinds of things. Well this was true during the day time. Over the past few months I have noticed that once the sun falls down in the sky my www.speedof.me speed test was reduced from 31Mbps down to around 2Mbps... What The Fuck? I recall Tek Syndicate referring to their positive use of Viper VPN as well as Private Internet Access, so I thought I would at least try to get a free one working to see if it would fix this shit. Over a few more days of testing, this Hola chrome plugin seems to be doing its job.

Is there another vpn service that is cheaper or has a mobile android/ios app as well? I use my galaxy s5/ipad air 2 in bed at night a lot for watching videos (well not currently, thanks isp throttling).

I've been throttled by Comcast, so I'm fairly sure they do it.

Hmm maybe that's why they wanted me to update my modem lol, I won't because I get higher down speeds then I'm paying for

Never heard of them, the smaller the isp the more high usage affects them but big companies are evil so it balances out, as for work around I can't think of any good ones, stupid isp bs, torrent websites may give you clues to good vpn though

Well I bought my own Surfboard SB6121 Modem and Blinken N 600 DB wireless N router, so I don't think that's the problem.

Yup, try their free service, see if the speed is good for you.

We could remember you whichever VPN that works well for us, but might have terrible speed for you, you need to try them yourself~
