Is a computer engineer and a computer hardware engineer the same thing?

I would venture to say yes since computer engineering puts a bit more focus into hardware than computer science does...

I'd wait for an answer from someone more well informed than me though.

nope

engineer is someone who creates the physical parts

hardware is the digital stuff

I hope your joking or made a typo. :P

Are you trolling or not?

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

no im not trolling i just dont know what hardware (the digital part of putting stuff on a motherboard bios for example) has to do with physically making the dam mobo

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

Computer engineer sometimes it's used interchangeably as software engineer. Hardware engineer is a lot more specific and harder to get into but rewarding none the less.

The computer enginner design system with computers, like communication, traffic lights and so on. Yes you do need to know the computers inside and out, but its more programming and small hardware

Electronic Engineering is a big field where you design (wait for it) electronic components and devices. There you will learn the basics and the high level of electronics, but you tend to concentrate on a device or a small system of devices, rather than a very large system

Here you can go many directions depending on uni. I will go towards PCB design and hopefully microcontroller design, but there is robotics, audio, visual and many many other directions to go

I hope you do know that HARDWARE is physical stuff, HARDware, like GPUs etc... SOFTWAREs are digital!

they're both engineers.

im pretty sure hardware is physical and software is digital

At my university computer science would probably be considered the software engineer equivalent, whereas computer engineering is a mix of hardware and software.

So basically a computer engineer is just things to do with computer in general?

and HArdware is more in depth like gpu's cpu's ect?

I already got a uncle who is a professer in computer science so I can just ask him

I'm not sure, I've never heard of "computer hardware engineer" and I'm not sure how things are organised over there at universities but, my guess is that for hardware you'd want to look at electrical engineering.

yes and no

Computer Engineer is working with computers. not designing GPUs and CPUs. Of course there is design involved, as sometimes you need to design a hardware.

An Electronic Engineer who is specialized in the Microprocessor Architecture field works with processors and microcontrollers, like GPUs.

But the best thing you can do is to go to your local university, or to a uni that lets you learn these modules, and ask them what is going on.

Experience yourself, the unis here in UK are really helpful!

I'm an engineer of computer science and computer control

as long as you're going engineering it doesn't really matter, you'll learn the basics in all fields,

however engineers do chose area of expertise, but as long as you have the basics you can re-specialize to another field be it with computers, mechanics or chemestry
