Good build, but the SATA ports on the Krait mobo are straight, which sucks and seems cheap for a 150$ mobo...

Well, the OP can change that if he wants. He has plenty of choices.

People freak out when you use "future proof", you should use "future resistant" instead. Seriously, future proofing only means that you buy overkill today in the hopes that your hardware lasts you a long time, calm your tits people. It's unlikely that games will see a steep rise in hardware requirements, since people don't upgrade every year and game developpers want to have acces to as many consumers as they can.

Something like a 980Ti should last you a few years, at least on 1080p, even with the async shaders thing.

tbh for 1080p you don't need 2000€ since it will be dead in 5years, 2k is atleast with 1440p in mind, also don't get X99 just because

Meh, that's what it's worth at $2000

Otherwise work around it and get a 6600k and a compatible mobo with SLI 980 ti

since you don't want to overclock anything, i've added two 980's that are clocked at 1.27 on the core. you also have a xeon chip with 4 cores and 8 threads. read my gpu overclocking guide; link in my forum signature. two 980's in sli will perform better than a single 980 ti

MrZany,

Here's my recommended computer build.

F.Y.I., just like someone else said in this thread... there is no such thing as a "future-proof" computer build.

It doesn't exist.

I picked out the Noctua air CPU cooler because it does a GREAT job of keeping the CPU nice and cool. You don't need a liquid based CPU cooling system.

It's a super bargain at NCIX Canada.

I have upgradability in mind and want to reuse this PSU for future SLI setup and liquid cooling

I want on board WiFi and a decent on board sound solution
