$400 AUD GPU (Primarily for GTA 5)

melias24

Hey guys, so my GTX 770, doesn't really play GTA 5 at the settings i want to. The viewing distance i run isn't too good and sometimes in game objects (using GTA car lengths) will just randomly spawn about 8 car lengths away from me and it's really annoying. The 2gb of Vram is really what i think lets it down, as it's a good card but the Vram is too low for the settings i want to run GTA 5 at. Anyway, i will probably have around $400 AUD for a GPU after i sell my 770 and save a bit. So this will be $400 for new OR used. So please give me as many options as possible!

If you could expand your budget just $60 you could get a R9 390. If not get a R9 380 but I don't know how much of an upgrade that is.

does it do the same "spawning" in sandbox (story mode)? as i have a

GTX 670 4GB SLI and still have online spawning, but the sandbox isn't as bad.

Try to get a used GTX 980, or maybe even an AMD Fury

MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2012 w/Core i5 3210M and glorious HD 4000 Graphics

Geez man coming from AU myself you won't get anything decent for $400AU new.

We'll do a run down:

R9 390  (Not x) Cheapest is a XFX at $499AU

GTX970 Cheapest is a Galax Reference at $449AU

Now those honestly are bare minimum for 1080p gaming with GTA V.

But if you're gaming at a lower resolution:

Nvidia GTX960 MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming $369

AMD R9 380 MSI Radeon R9 380 Gaming $359

These are the most expensive 380/GTX960's, so they do get cheaper.

Prices from PCCG.

Otherwise you can check the Overclockers AU Buy/Sell/Swap forums for second hand cards.
