If you ran for president, what would your policies be?

- I'm pro choice for abortion and birth control, if she decides she doesn't want the baby, it's her choice, she's the one carrying it, not you. But I'd reduce the current 24 weeks to 12 weeks. It would only be free for rape victims/minors.

 

- Sex education should be mandatory from the first year of high school.

 

- Gun control should be a thing, actually do background check and mental health check on people who want a gun. Also mandatory training of at least 50 hours to make sure people know how to use them properly.

Also, ban assault/automatic weapon, those have no place outside of the military. If you need more than 1 or 2 bullet to "defend" your home and family, you shouldn't be allowed to have a gun in the first place.

 

- Net Neutrality : Pass a law that makes it illegal for ISPs to introduce so called "fast lanes" or to throttle some web services (like netflix) , all traffic should be treated equal, no question about it.

 

- Allow municipalities to create their own internet network, if no ISP is willing to do it

 

- Reduce budget to the military from 57% of the total GDP to 40%. Invest the savings in Health, Education and Energy. (I believe 40% is still high, but it's still necessary)

 

- Invest more into renewable energies like Solar and Wind, possibly Hydro as well, shut down Oil and Coal power plants.

 

- Legalize and tax the use of marijuana. Release the current inmates that were jailed for the non-violent crime of simple possession of marijuana. (if they resisted arrest or were part of a gang, that's a different thing)

 

- Restructure the current health care system, get the healthcare bidding system going properly, make the big pharma actually compete with each other to offer the lowest possible price.

As well as give incentive for using "generic" medicines over the branded ones.

 

- Wellfare : If you're able bodied, you can stay on it for up to 2 years, while actively looking for a job, give them help on finding a job.

Have them pass a drug test ever 3 months, anyone found with traces of drugs, will be cut off.

 

- Equality for all. No matter your race, gender, religion, sexual orientation/identity(LGBT), you shouldn't be discriminated against, we're all humans.

 

- Progressive taxation, the wealthier you are, the more you are taxed.

 

- House prices cap. Seriously it's getting ridiculous how some houses are being sold for 10 times the rightful amount.

 

- Legalize assisted suicide in the case of terminal disease/cancer, especially when you know what is coming is just pain and suffering.

I would personally have these policies:

No increase in gun control, rather, an increase in gun education.

Pro-Title II

Abortion is illegal, with the exception of the threat of physical health, or rape.

Zero tolerance laws with Terrorism. You set a bomb off in a public place (with the intention of injuring/killing)? You are now an enemy of the country

Overturn Obamacare in favor of social hospitals (Free health care, paid for at cost, no tax markup).

Anti-spying laws. We cannot spy on our own citizens without a warrant.

Zero discrimination: gender/race/religion/sexuality is not a factor in any public service or business. None of these will help nor hurt you. (which does mean an end to affirmative action)

Re-structure Military to increase efficiency, cut away 230 year old flab to retain effectiveness while still reducing budget.

Add a new branch of military: Fixers/construction. Highly efficient construction, to set up infrastructure (roads, internet, electricity) after our other branches have basically destroyed the place. (this should improve America's face in these countries)

Re-structure police to be more like military: Yes, I know militarizing police sounds bad, but I mean more discipline, better training to handle threats non-lethally, and lethally if required. Use standardized equipment, like military, to keep costs down.

Drugs are for medical use only. Ban tobacco as a dangerous substance, Ban all smoked drugs for second hand smoke concerns.

Implement a flat percentage tax rate, consolidate all taxes into two comprehensive taxes: 20% on all income, and 10% on all expenses, regardless of wealth. (exemptions given to those in poverty)

Stricter regulations on welfare, must be working or actively seeking a job, or unable to work. (No leechers)

Why make abortion illegal?

It's not easy to provide a social healthcare plan that also accommodates for changes in the financial future, lots of healthcare plans like obamacare for example have holes in them that don't account for dynamic changes economically which is something that needs to be addressed. I have yet to see a dynamic healthcare plan that has a high margin of long term success.  

Spy on citizens law? Ha good luck with that, when the giant corporations have no competitors and control a large portion of personal information while having lobbyist politicians backing them there is no such thing as privacy. Small companies that can potentially compete can't grow fast enough, and are either bought by larger ones or driven out of business by the top dogs.

Zero discrimination would be nice but is impossible at this stage of civilization, that's something you'd get a in a Utopian society that is only geared to similarly minded people. Discrimination more or less comes as a package with human beings.

We may not be very aware, but the strategic military bases we have blanketed around the world is very important to our global success leverage-wise(Economically as well when political unrest happens). We've become quite reliant on our military power as a means of leverage on many international matters, kinda like the "too big to fail" saying.

Implementation of a flat tax percentage will be very very tricky, the amount of money the government uses varies with who's running the country and taxes in general have a heavy effect on our economic landscape. A dynamic tax would adjust for changes economically for better growth in general however implementation of dynamic tax would also be tricky. Dynamically adjusting the tax percentage everyone has to pay will have to accommodate for more than just taxation by income. 

Again implementation of new welfare regulations are also very tricky, not just tricky financially but tricky socially as well.

If they stop being sold legally, they will be harder to obtain over time on the black market. In that region of course.

 

But anyone who owns one before the ban should be allowed to keep it. Just stop giving out licenses and stop allowing them to be sold at any legal shops.

 

Over a long period of time they will be harder and harder to obtain.

 

And here's the difference:

 

You're walking, and across the street you see a random guy carrying around a rifle. You know he has a gun, you gtfo before he sees you.
