What's this checking your browser thing when i visit the forum?

It's to prevent DDOS attacks.

I get some weird checking your browser thing i never used to get.

It's checking if you are not some bot from a DDOS'er. (it says that on the bottom somewhere too).

there was someone who DDOS'ed the forum a few days ago and this is the protection they turned on.

It happens every now and then, but it has been more recent as of the past few weeks...

It has always been here. It turned itself on recently because the forum was attacked by a DDoSer. Read more on this other thread

It has been on Cloudfare for ages now, but they turned on the more active DDOS protection because they were actively getting DDOS'ed.

You could always see they were on Cloudfare if the site was offline :P

Linus has a DDOS price on his head. All 'famous' online personalities do. I honestly don't understand what someone could possibly get from DDOS attacking a website but I guess I don't understand the motive behind a lot of things going on these day. I suspect boredom and insecurities play a major role :unsure:
