WHY IS RAM SUDDENLY SO CHEAP

DDR3 is suddenly like £30 for 8gb. It used to be £60 for 8gb. What the devil has happened? Sorry for being so British

Mine too *cries*

I really want to get a 2x8GB kit, but I'm also doing a Skylake build so that's pointless. I have a 4x4GB kit as of now but I hate the lack of expansion and the green PCBs.

It's been dropping for months now. DDR4 is out so as people switch to that DDR3 will drop in price

I was wondering the same thing. Was $50 per 8GB like 2-3 years ago, and then all of a sudden the price basically doubled... and now the past like 3 months it's gone back down to being around $50/8GB. I might upgrade to 16GB of RAM while the prices are like this... who knows when they'll go back up.

Intel i5-4690K @ 3.8GHz || Gigabyte Z97X-SLI || 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X 1600MHz || Asus GTX 760 2GB @ 1150 / 6400 || 128GB A-Data SX900 + 1TB Toshiba 7200RPM || Corsair RM650 || Fractal 3500W

My G.Skill TidentX 2400MHz CL10 was like $66 on Amazon.

Have it at 9-11-11-30 CR1 @ 2400MHz. Pretty good, just want to get another 8GB :P.

I really like G.Skill, pretty cheap stuff and OC pretty good.

I smell a RAM upgrade. That one stick is getting lonely and Chrome is hungry after ploughing through these forums.

Skylake isn't the processor that makes DDR4 mainstream just yet though. That's a price drop in DDR3 that'd be all more recognisable.
