Have you guys ever had known someone that boasts they have an amazing expensive setup?

Person I know says he has $1500 setup - a ps3 with a 50' TV 480p and a g27...

Meanwhile I'm over hear with triple monitors and a great pc not the best, oculous rift dual joysticks 1 mech kb 3 mice 4 headphones and a stupid sound system that I love cause bassssssss from my sub.

I hate when people (more specifically kids and teens, someone pointed it out below) brag about the things they have, most of it wasnt even bought with their own money.

The only real thing I have to brag about it my Blade, yet again not bought with my own money.

Im perfectly happy with my one monitor and Im happy with my PC, sure its not the best, but good enough for me.

My cousins friend is gonna help him build a $2000 PC. Yeah... No. I've told him all,he does is play sims 4 and will probably be playing GTA v and a few other games. I by no means have a good PC. I told him a nice $900-$1000 pc would be good since thst would give him quality and some good specs like a i5-4690k, a r9 390 ect ect.. I asked his friend with the "amazing" setup what his specs were.

An i5-4440 ( not bad right )

16gbs of ddr3 at 2400mhz ( completely useless ram speed )

A 750w Corsair CX series ( meh )

750Tis in SLI. WHY JUST WHY. My cousin said his PC must be faster he's got two graphics card... The "friend" said he ran every game 1440p maxed out 60fps with no stutters.. Lies and slander

I know a guy that goes on and on about how good his setup is which is a really weird setup for gaming, he has a 4820k, GTX 570, no SSD, 8GB RAM (1 stick) and a 50" TV

Maybe if your a fucking tween.. Speak for your self about not paid for with own money... The ONLY thing I didn't pay for with my own money was my laptop it was a repair job turned gift (lady just got a new laptop and said keep it)

Other than that I paid for my sound system(500).. All my bikeparts (over 2k) headphones (300).. Midi controllers (700).. My RC stuff (well over 4k) I mean I could go on.. But just because people CAN and DO save for nice things doesn't give you the right to assume everyone just gets there shit free or as gifts.. Speak for your self.

If it's some rich twat flaunting their bank account, then yeah that annoys me.

 

If it's someone who scraped together all them spare pennies over an extended period of time to build a machine/setup they are truly proud of (high-end or not) - then why the hell not?

My neighbor... I swear its people like him that started the "PC master race" BS. So what's his setup? Starting with his desk:

• 3x High res Benq monitors(not sure, didn't ask), with a ROG Swift on the side
• Limited edition Ducky keyboard(not sure which one)
• Razer Naga with a team branded mousepad
• bitchin' looking speakers(probably spensive) and Sennheiser headphones(again, probably spensive).
• "Gaming" desk and chair

Then the PC, that just makes me cringe(Keep in mind, this PC is only for gaming, his Xeon rig takes care of the other stuff):

• Intel 5960X
• 32GB Corsair Dominator whatever RAM(too pricey for me)
• Twin Titans
• 1TB of SSD storage and 8TB of HDD storage(Samsung and WD I presume)
• Corsair 800D?
• Custom watercooling loop with two dual fan radiators(not sure if 120 or 140mm).

Now, with the water cooling loop you would assume that its cooling the whole system right? Nope, only the CPU, the Titan's still have the reference coolers on them. Speaking of the Titans, they are more than capable of handling today's games right? Well, not in his eyes, he is replacing both of them with two Titan X's. Now you might be thinking: "but 980 ti's are better than TX's, why doesn't he get those instead?" Ignorance, that's why. "The Titans are the full fledged GPU's, a cut down GPU can't out perform it. Could come close if you overclock the 980 ti." And if you think: "well his system isn't ideal, but its not bad for his use" Its terrible for his use, literally the only games he plays is Minecraft and CS:GO.

 

It would be fine if he didn't gloat about his ultimate system all the time, but he calls my PC's "peasant stations" since they are low end(even though I have so much fun building and tinkering on them). To each their own I guess.

I offered to install them for him, but I'm apparently not professional enough(even though I worked at that Microcenter for two years, building and fixing PC's).
