They arn't. When Intel's  $115 i3 4160, is beating AMDs $225 FX 9590 in games. Then you know AMD CPUs are bad for gaming.

That or intel learned they cannot charge an arm and a leg for their lower end CPUs

 

jk jk. But people ARE underestimating AMD cpus in general. It is not like they CAN NOT give you a good gaming experience, its just that a i5 or higher does it better.

Intel=Don't matter as Intel makes better CPUs than AMD, AND THAT'S A FACT

Nvidia=now that just pisses me off, ATi/AMD still make great graphic cards for it's price. 

Any one who says a 960 is better than 285 or a 970 better than a 390 is a straight up Nvidia fanboy, bias, or just plain stupid. 

Facts and benchmarks count, otherwise we can just say a FX 8350 is way better than a 4790K. 

AMD/ATi still makes the best price to performance GPUs, sorry Nvidia but you lost this title for the 970 when it came out last year. How's the 3.5/4GB vram compared to 8GB vram on a 390, plus the 390 performs way better than the 970 in almost every benchmark(except GTA 5, GTA 5 likes nvidia cards).

If you talk about heat and power consumtion, that means you're probably a blatant Nvidia fanboy. You're probably recommending based on your preference, NOT YOURS. GO ON BASED WHAT THE PERSON WANTS, NOT YOU. IT'S UNETHICAL.

Drivers is mute at this point, but energy does cost money and specifically (and only with) Hawaii based gpus it should be brought up.

100 W difference at 3 hours a day with energy costs of 20 cents per kWH is 22 dollars a year which more than accounts for cost differences IFF (if and only if) performance is comparable. Obviously AC is actually more expensive than the energy cost itself due to heat generation but that's impossible to specify and may be offset by winter heating savings.

Personally the only time I worry about energy consumption is if it requires a more expensive psu (which most of the time it doesn't), if everything else is near equal, or if someone is considering a 295x2 (cause that shit is crazy and puts a lot of limitations on builds).

Below Hawaii energy consumption isn't big enough difference to matter, and with Fiji vs gm100 it's basically a wash either way.

Btw I generally recommend 390 over 970 but they are close enough that I don't really get butt hurt either way.

I dont recommend the 960 ever because the 380 is noticeably better value.

I also don't recommend fury x unless small form factor because it's current overclocking is so fucking terrible and EVEN if in the unspecified future it gets amazing, it really doesn't seem sensible to buy a high end product now that is worse than a similarly price product because in the unforseen future it MIGHT be better.

If that makes me a fanboy o well.

The frustrating part is that those two cards in particular are pretty fucking inseparable. Everyone talked crap about the 960 when it was release because, although it had taken the price point of the 750 Ti it was competing with a 280X and it just wasn't as good. However, the 285/380 (they're the same thing) is near identical to the 960 and neither can compete with last gen.

 

Which is bad for the consumer, it means that so far someone wanting to get a mid-range GPU has fewer good options than they had six months ago, which isn't the direction we should be going in.

Drivers should be mute. If you can hear a graphics driver something is horribly wrong. You probably mean "moot" though

When 2 girls do it (to my experience) things get ugly very fast. A girl from my class got in a fight with a teacher 2 years ago. Lot's of hair pulling and those nails leave marks

Another one of my classmates got hit in the eye with a 5 Kilo weight by a girl. Not sure if on purpose but that definitely left a mark.
