DDR4 // DDR3

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

Yeah i know i know :D it was random question i am getting DDR4 anyways for new build. But  2133 and 3000 from G.Skill  are with only 10euro difference.

I think i am going for 3000 because 10euro difference  :D worth it !! But because of this will i have heat issues will they run hotter than 2133 ?

heat isnt an issue unless you OC it and push the voltage

for $10 might as well get 3000MHz so you can run benchmarks and admire your numbers :D

Random question first: Is the diffence beetween DDR3 1600/1866 and DDR4 2800/3000 noticeable ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What should i get: DDR4 2133 or DDR4 3000 ( 10euro difference )

And if i choose the DDR4 3000 will i have heat issues ?

Are higher speeds getting hotter ?

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Depends on your application. In 99% of cases, RAM speed doesn't make an appreciable difference though.

no there is no noticeable difference

but DDR3 and DDR4 need different motherboards, so dont mess up and get the wrong one

Do you have a x99 system? If so get ddr4 as ddr3 isn't compatible with the board. If it's a z97/h97 mobo then ddr3 since ddr4 isn't compatible.
