R9 280x WITH 144HZ

Go to solution Solved by H4X3R,

Thanks buddy :)

I'll contact the shop witch i bought the parts from, and i also contact ASUS to fix that issue

Best regards.

LOL. This is funny tbh. Try the white port not the black one.

On my brothers 280X toxic 144hz works just fine on an Asus VG248QE.

Make sure that no other program is defaulting your resolution to 60hz, to make 100% sure it isn't a fault with a card, reinstall windows or put it into a computer with a fresh install of windows.

Hey guys, i have installed my gaming monitor the ASUS VG278HE 27" 144Hz, but after i installed the monitor by VDI to VDI and everything fine,

but when i come to change Refresh rate to 144HZ, I have see this problem i cant put it more than 75, and when i apply to 75 it back automatically to 60,

i install all drivers for GPU and my GPU is sapphire r8 280x toxic, and i have the latest driver, i download the Multiframe but same problem, i put the CD i just see an NVIDIA Drivers for graphic card i even installed but it says error because my GPU is AMD

Best Regards,

To run a monitor at 144HZ your best bet would to be using display port.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

It would have to be dual link dvi, or he could get lucky with his HDMI because I think it's a 1.4b, so he could unofficially run 144Hz off that, but the monitor he has doesn't actually have DisplayPort

Luckily his monitor should have come with a dvi-d connector anyway, so using that should be giving him the 144Hz

What GPU are you using? I know it's a r9 280x, but is it an Asus Matrix, or something else?

Also are you running multiple monitors off it that aren't the 144Hz one, or just the single monitor?

That card has 2 DVI connectors, one is single link, the other is duel link, are you connected to the right one? Try the other one just incase! Then try changing the refresh rate settings

I mean on the GPU itself, it has 2 DVI ports right? Like this:

sapphire05_0.jpg

Have you tried connecting your DVI cable to both of those ports to see if it works? Because on of those ports is Single link DVI the other is duel link DVI (The cable you have is also duel link DVI) and you only get 144Hz at 1080p over Duel link DVI.

They had issues when 144Hz was first becoming a thing, but I don't think that should be what's causing your issues now, especially if all your drivers are up to date.

Have you tried to change it through the Adapter settings maybe? Not sure it'll help, but worth a try I guess, not sure what else you could try.

Go to your screen resolution page, then Advanced Settings, then under the Adapter tab click 'List all modes' and see if there is anything there on 144Hz at 1080p, if there is then good click it, make sure it's then changed in the monitor tab and everything should be fine.

But doubtful that will work tbh
