Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

nah i'd rather be freezing than burning.

Nah, at least then I could take measures like cover myself with a blanket, turn up the heater etc.

Ditto. In winter, you can wear multiple layers of clothing to prevent freezing, but summer / whenever it's hot as hell, there's only so much clothing you can take off... You can't remove your skin.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

It's been really hot in the UK (well, at least England - I can't say for Wales or Scotland or Northern Ireland) but there were 46 of us in a coach with bad air conditioning with outside temps of up to 35C, driving 260 miles from County Durham to London. The A/C in the hotel room I stayed in only went down to 19C and since we were staying outside of London we had to have a bad drive back to the hotel, arriving exhausted at midnight, after a 100 minute drive (meant to be an hour), thanks to traffic, which wasn't much cooler.

Sig under construction.

I'm very sorry you had to suffer County Durham.

What do they know of England, who only England know?

The location where one has born / grown up / lived for most of their lifetime can also effect the preferred season(s).

I prefer winter over summer, but out of all 4 seasons, I like the autumn / fall the most. Spring is also enjoyable.

My order of preference goes as follows in decending order: autumn > spring > winter > summer

And it's worse for dark skinned people, since darker skin absorbs more sunlight than light skins. That's why it's more practical to wear a white shirt when it's hot over a black one.

Eerh... Actually, when it comes to skin, it's quite the opposite. Darker skin tones can resist UV light more well, and pale people can't stand sunlight (especially albinos). That's why tanning is actually helpful in sunny environments.

But as far as clothes go, yeah. Avoid black if possible. Sunny days are quite sweaty for me, considering all of my pants (apart from one olive drab and one Desert DPM camouflaged pants) are black, and my thinnest shoes (that are also my favorite shoes) are black tabi...

Yeah... It's gonna get quite hot in these on very sunny days. Still for some reason my feet sweat a lot less in these than on any other shoes while wearing any socks.

To add to this scientist believe the reason why europeans are the color they are is because when Homo sapiens migrated out of Africa it was during the last great ice age and there wasn't much in the way of sun on the European continent.  That plus there being slim pickens in terms of food sources rich in Vitamin D and migrant decedents began suffering from rickets, which is a vitamin D deficiency, but over time skin tones grew lighter and lighter to allow additional UV absorption.

The trade off though is us white folk have a much higher chance at skin cancer.

Is it normal to sleep so much in hot weather?

Since it began I have been taking naps and all...

Being hot has a tendency to suck the energy out of you.  So yes it is.

Also if you are outside a lot you are probably expending more calories than normal which means you may want to nap more.

Yes actually, because during school, i would wake up at 6 and would last the day without napping. But during summer, I wake up at 9 and still end up napping.

28 degrees inside my apartment...

Feels similar:

The rest of our house: 23°C

My room: >27°C

And there's two options for me: either try to cope with the heat generated by my PC (mostly by the GTX 590), or have tons of mosquitoes annoying you all the time. I choose the former option, because f*** mosquitoes.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

I brought my fan out of storage.. All its doing is turbocharging hot air into my face :(

And opening the window doesn't help at all.. It just gets hotter
