Dell ControlPoint software being a jerk -_-

So I'm trying to get my wireless networks to connect when I logon with my Latitude E4300. But they don't. And this stupid option which is grayed out is probably the one that makes them. For the record, I am obviously the admin, and I am running this as administrator.

I work at a computer repair shop and i forget to do this sometimes.

No. I have my moments, but this is not one of them.

Try running windows built-in diagnostics. It should be able to tell you what is wrong if not fix the problem.

I was the one who teachers always asked for PC help. This happens like 20 times in school.

And @OP doesn't the regular windows wireless manager work?

Do your self a HUGE favor. Remove Control Point Networking component, and just use Windows built-in one, and everything will work so much better.

Windows already connects for you when you login.

Cause it was created by a monkey who farted out a tune that sounded roughly like computer code and Dell decided to use it as the basis for a networking component.

I would also recommend you stick to built in networking stuff where possible cause everything else is total garbage.

Dell software is outsourced to India on the cheap. Not to insult the country or its citizens, but saying that they hired crap company that charges cheap, and pays cheap, so the real knowledgeable programmers don't work there.

I keeps Control Point for the status of my backlight keyboard and ambient sensor. But networking component, and smart card one, I don't install (I do install the drivers, so device manager doesn't complain, for the smart card reader, however)

Dell just died a little in my eyes. But now that I removed it, all is happy.

 

I just want to find an OEM backlit keyboard to replace the worn out, not-backlit one on my lappy. One of those would be swaggy.
