Why don't rgb keyboards do what the strafe and black widow chroma did with the white background

Well we haven't seen the keyboard in a while so its a high possibility they fixed that

Q1 2016 is almost over... I'm getting quite upset while waiting and getting more and more information over the time with no exact release date. I really hopte them soon to be released! I need those RGB peripherals in my collection!

I guess they dont want to bring such high end products to market without some standout feature. The competition is very tough right now with mice like the Roccat Nyth and Corsair Scimitar. And the amount of RGB mechanical keyboards is insane.

Or they might just be building up stock for the release, who knows?

Time's a wasting. The longer they take the more ppl they lose to Corsair in the keyboard arena. How many of you are gonna upgrade from K70 to the Claymore?

Depends on if they got a new switch or not, im really sick and tired of the faint scratching sound (all keys) on my k65 and the back light is really weak.

The mouse looks very ugly and "bulky" in my opinion. I don't like the size nor the design/look tbh.

The keyboard looks alright. It's a bit too "gamery" looking for my taste but I'll have to admit that the detachable numpad was a brilliant idea from Asus.

its defiantly very bulky, its looks like a ******* tank but if my gladius is anything to go by the build quality and materials are gonna feel amazeballz. And for the target customer, (the mmo player) they are probably not gonna mind the added bulk since they arent in need of flicking the mouse around, but i never got into MMOs so what do i know.

And for the keyboard, detachable numpad has been done before (i think tesoro did it once) but not alot of people have heard of "tesoro" but i think its quite weird we havent seen this done by logitech or razer yet but whatever, better late than never.

I've been waiting for this mouse to come out since its first reveal. In the meantime my current mouse is dying on me (half of the buttons aren't even working anymore :D).
What really bothers me that there are barely any updates on these stuffs, apparently they were announced for November 2015 then Q1 2016 and what now?
If this think won't come out in like a month I'll have to go for the Corsair Scimitar...seeing the price it would cost me half as much anyways what the hell is 140€ in a mouse?

Well the money didnt go into the sensor. The Corsair Scimitar seems like a solid buy and with an optical sensor (ADNS-3988 but seems to have firmware issues atm)

Its cheaper and with a sensor of that caliber (once they fix firmware), more versatile if you plan on playing other games. Just make sure you like the shape.

Otherwise the Roccat Nyth could be a good choice.

The Spatha is confirmed to be released in May at a price of 170€
Here a link of a german online store:

http://m.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Asus-ROG-Spatha-USB-schwarz-titan--kabellos-_1037668.html

and her a link of the german ASUSROGDE Youtube channel, where they confirm a launch in may:

Are they even serious? 170€ for a mouse? Lol what.

For that much I'd rather buy another mechanical keyboard tbh. That price is a bad joke tbh... (could it be a placeholder price point?) and I don't care how good the sensor is. The mouse looks tacky as hell imo and the price is a big NO.

Just my $0.02.

So they announced this thing a year ago.  3-4 weeks ago they announced it is ready to go, samples sent out, reviews being done and even put on the price of 130 € . I'm seeing it about $179 USD.

All this and yet there is one place in the UK you can pre-order it from. Amazon has it up but set as unavailable.

I swear I have no idea how Asus exists at times as their marketing is fantastic but their execution and customer support is absolutely abhorrent.

Price and design are terrible on both.

No chance for anyone remotely serious about gaming to get this over Corsair/Logitech/Razer :/

I've seen some good reviews on it.  The only main downside is the one middle button on the side that can be hard to push, otherwise the software and the hardware are pretty solid.  Feel is great.  Wireless works just fine.   So what makes it better/worse/same as a Razer Mamba, Corsair m95 or Logitech g900?

It would have to be significantly cheaper than a G900 for me to consider the Spatha as a wireless mouse. And the speculative price can't compete with G502 as a wired mouse.

From what I'm seeing it will be priced about the same.  The G900 is being touted as a ambidextrous wireless mouse that preforms as good as a wired mouse.  The Spatha is being touted as a gaming mouse with more buttons that are mapable that is more ergonomically set for right hand users.

Honestly for me it is about feel. The Logitech mouse is much lighter, lighter than the Mamba. I prefer heavier mice.  Also I like the little thumb rest area of the Spatha, I miss that on my current Mamba.  The G900 is going to be great wirelessly I'm sure.  I probably will wait a bit to see some more reviews on the Spatha before I either buy or not buy it.  I like my Mamba, but I have to use it pretty much wired cause of the wireless issues, but it is a smooth mouse, even though it is a bit lighter.  I loved my Corsair M95 but my cat chewed through the cable sooooo.

I wouldn't use a wireless mouse if you are semi-serious about gaming. Loads of cons on those ones you mentioned too. But yes as far as wireless mice go it is fine bar the buttons, but it does not come close to the precision and feel of a Razer Deatheadder Chroma or Logitech G502. I mentioned Corsair mainly for their keyboards, not keen on their mice.

The new logitech g900 is claiming its wireless is better than many wired connected mice.  An interesting claim that they seemingly have backed up with Luke's video on the subject.

My concern is more with the tracking.  On Asus' website it claims it is a Laser mouse and yet in many reviews it says it is an optical sensor.  Which is it?  Are they going to use the same Avago ADNS-S3988 sensor they have on the Gladius or what is it? So far I haven't been able to tell.

I was wondering about the Spatha's sensor too. The only thing I've found is that it supposedly has performance comparable to the G502's sensor Pixart PMW 3366DM

Well the A9800 is nowhere near as good as the 3366. But well Asus have been testing many different sensors in that mouse so i wouldnt be surprised if they have changed it again.
