Beyond 60 FPS

Hi everyone.

Another quick one. Is there any point in running games past 60 FPS? Does it make any difference if a game runs at 65 FPS vs 125 FPS on a 144hz monitor?

If the monitor has a refresh rate that allows for higher FPS to be shown, yes, it makes a difference.

Yeah, there are 144Hz monitors, which can display 144fps.

And you have some games that dip quite a bit, so you are better off with a high fps so you are 'prepared' for that

if your monitor certified for 144hz, yes you can view 120fps.

regular monitor with 60hz? no.

I can see a difference between 60 and 120 hz. I say anything thats 60+ is good.

Yes, the difference is noticeable. As long as you monitor goes higher than 60hz of course.

it is but not by a long shot its minimal and not always noticeable

Oooh, it does make a big difference. It makes the game a lot smoother, if you're used to higher fps, when you go back you might feel that the game is slower.

Oh yes, there is a noticeable difference, if your monitor can go beyond 60-120Hz, there is a difference.

At first I thought that there wasn't. I've been rolling with 60hz for so long I was skeptical. I went to help my friend build his new PC and wow... I told him to get a 144hz monitor (he had a huge budget). I played a bit of CSGO on it, it was amazing. I may have to upgrade my screen to that when I get the new Fury X

I never actually experienced 120hz in my life. I would just assume it's 60x2 fps

heck i can tell between 55 fps and 60fps, not everyone is the same though.
