Install your chipset driver notification

Go to solution Solved by Blake,

either open the Action Center and tell it to ignore the chipset driver or open devmgmt.msc and find the product with the yellow triangle letting you know it is an unknown device (or find the generic windows driver and manually update it there -> I wouldn't care if you don't have any stability/performance issues, normally there are too many devices to look through)

Hello,

I just (re)build my PC and installed Windows 8.1 with all the updates and drivers and such. Now I keep getting the following notification:

When I click on it I get this:

I installed all the drivers from the MSI website and used MSI Live Update to check for updates (there was one for Intel IME, I installed that to see if that would solve my problem).

When I check device manager everything is as it should be and MSI Live Update says everything is installed correctly as well.

Is there something I'm missing, or is this just a random Windows problem?

Have you updated your BIOS at all?

Never heard of Windows asking a user to install a chipset driver or something.

When I open it it says a newer version is already installed, so that's not the problem either.

well your first problem is connecting the computer to the internet before you had already installed all your drivers.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

I didn't connect my PC to the internet before installing the drivers because I need to install the drivers before I can use internet.

obviously there is at least one driver that wasn't installed.

Yeah but I installed the Intel INF and Intel Chipset drivers before I installed the Killer network drivers. Could this still be an issue then? And does it actually matter since the drivers are installed and MSI live update says they're installed as well?

a chipset driver can be anything. It could be a memory card reader.

either open the Action Center and tell it to ignore the chipset driver or open devmgmt.msc and find the product with the yellow triangle letting you know it is an unknown device (or find the generic windows driver and manually update it there -> I wouldn't care if you don't have any stability/performance issues, normally there are too many devices to look through)

Couldn't find it so I just archived the message. I haven't had any trouble with my pc so far so I'll just live with it ;)
