165 hz feels like 60 hz?

So i have never had this problem before around febuary and march, it started happening to get worse around may, I have this happened to me in my 1080 monitor and also 1440 monitor where the set hz, feels like 60 hz over time.

My fans also gets louder throughout the hours im playing and idk if thats whats contributing to it, also whenever I look at the 99% FPS in presentmon and whenver it went down to 50- 100 fps thats when it would feel really laggy whenever i look around, ik im not crazy because ive seen what my monitor and gameplay has been and it feels really slow, I have a 3080 and a i7 12700kf and 32 gb ram.

I have tried: reinstalling windows, going back a driver, Updated to latest drivers, set everying to the hz i want, tried v sync in monitor also in nvidia and also in game, tried to uninstall rgb software like ICUE,

This has been bothering me and I cant game normally and have fun, Can any one please help.

GPU temps ? 3080 is a hotbox, some have bad pads on VRAM, paste may be dry after 3 years too

also check GPU VRAM and hotspot temps, my 3080 Aorus VRAM went up to 110C even with the GPU at 70C before I repasted/repadded it

Can you install msi afterburner and downclock your gpu a bit to see if the gpu rlly is the problem. Underclock it by around 75-100 Mhz. Your temps look normal fyi. This could just be an overheating problem or a faulty gpu.

Use GPU-Z or HWInfo64

In HWInfo64 it's here

Gotta upgrade the cooling like I've said, switching back to 1080p to gain GPU temps means you're CPU limited at 1080p and don't fully use the card

And/or undervolt the card in MSI Afterburner, and tweak the fan curve

Maybe your case has bad airflow as well

I dont think its the cooling, when i got this pc for the first time ever everything was smooth, 144+ fps actually felt like 144 hz monitor, but now even getting 200 plus fps it feels like im playing at 60 hz it doesnt feel smooth,

Download msi afterburner and then in the middle box you will see core clock slide that down to negative 75Mhz

DO NOT SCREW AROUND WITH THE CORE VOLTAGE AT ALL!!!

What's the framerate ? 165 or 60 ??

When did you buy it ? Paste degrades over time, GPU gets dusty etc

But if your card gets to 80C the cooling is an issue anyway

Installed msi after burner and it feels little bit better running at 60 - 70c after adjusting the curve settings

I get around 200 - 300 fps, but my 1% lows drop down to 144 fps. And i jsut redid the paste for the CPU rn

Then what's the problem ??? if it doesn't look good it's either you or the monitor 😛

I think its the 1% lows, everytime it goes below the 165 hz it feels so laggy and idk how to fix it

Can you send a sample vid pls running your desired game with all the stats realtime? You also havent mentioned your pc specs except for your GPU.

Theres no video, but for you to see what im seeing just basically run a game and set it to the lowest hz thats how it feels right now even tho its set to the hz i want 165 hz. Im lagging everytime i look around, and it gets really bad when it drops below 100 fps which is 1% lows in the msi afterburner even though my actual fps is 300, I got a 3080

What's the rest of your system? Lag could come from CPU bottleneck, RAM bandwidth limitations, slow poll rate mouse, network if MP etc

Networking ie high ping and high latency impact FPS a lot. Do you have a local/storymode game like the last of us you can test this on?

yes my ping is stable in multiplayer games, i have play for honor story mode and it still feels laggy whenever it drops below 165 fps with my 1% low

I have 3080 GPU, 12700KF CPU 32gb 3200 mhz ram and i get around 9 ping in multiplayer. What i have noticed is whenver i game i feel laggy whnever the 1% low is below my refresh rate of my monitor, but the thing is i get around 200 - 300 ACTUAL fps, but my 1% low is very bad running around 110- 170 whenver i start gaming longer it drops down to 80- 120
