Could I play Arma 3 Multiplayer smoothly?

I have a AMD 6300 and a AMD 7850 2gb.  I am planning on upgrading both, but would I be able to play arma 3 smoothly with a i7 4790k and a amd 7850 2gb for a little until I got enough money to upgrade my GPU?

Well that game is cpu intensive, so you should be in good shape at FHD

how taxing is arma on your pc anyways?

Arma 3 single player?  Perfectly fine.  I can play it on high settings with 50fps.  But on multiplayer, on high, medium, and low.  I can only get 25 fps on all servers.

I honestly find it depends more on internet connection

CPU: i5-4690K @ 4.0GHz GPU: Gigabyte Gtx 970 WindForce MOBO: Gigabyte Z97 Gaming-3 CASE: Corsair Carbide 200R PSU: Corsair RM750

MP FPS is mostly dependent on the server, if the server is struggling with hosting the game, for any reason, FPS will drop for all players.

I usually had ~30FPS in MP as well, but as soon as our clan upgraded to a better server I started getting 60 to 80 FPS.

 

What kind of server where you playing on? If it was one of those fuking presistant things where multiple objetives are generated for 30+ people.... NOBODY get more that 35 in those servers, no matter what they have.

Ive dipped down to 17fps on a mp server before on the machine in my sig....Thats just Arma being Arma.

that I cant remember to be honest I haven't played in in a while I'm just going to say "playable"

I'm playing on a wasteland server with a ping of 54.

There is your problem, public servers, not to mention something like wasteland, is going to have scripts to make your brain tissue turn orange.

The only solutions to increase the MP FPS you get on average are as follows.

1. Find a clan, play on clan server that runs custom missions tailored for the clan's own internal usage.

2. Uhh... there isn't really a second solution that I can think of actually... It would always be the same "don't play on public servers"

I get solid 60fps on single player arma 3 but their multiplayer is pretty badly optimized, I usually go down to 40fps.

Zalman Z9 Plus - GTX 660 TI - i5 2500k @ 4ghz - MSI 1155 Intel P67 - Corsair CMPSU-750HX - 16GB G.Skill Ripjaw 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 - Seagate ST3500413AS 500GB - Seagate ST2000DL003 2TB Backup Storage -  Old CBA to change it.

It doesn't efficiently use your system so no matter how many things you add, it won't get better.
