Price range?

I'd recommend looking around the GTX960 and GTX970, they should play most games at 1080p at the glorious 60fps.

Depends on what games you will be playing and on what resolution. What is your monitor too? (60,120,144 Hz). These questions will help us better find a graphics card for you.

Giving a price range would help a bit, but try taking a look at the GTX 960 and 970

When you say 'nor have i seen better that HD res' does that mean you are going to be playing at 2K or 4K?

Well I would like too, but i dought i would be able to afford the monitor at the moment, so lets stick to 1080p. But i really really want to see more that 60 fps.

i'll poke around on PCPP to see if i can do something in your budget.

realise that peripherals generally are a one-time investment, but a very expensive one at that. (my monitors alone cost more than my last pc, and i dont have the best ones.)

ALL of this, this'll be a GREAT entry into pc gaming, and will keep you going for a while.

i want to clarify this: in terms of your first build, a monitor is a monitor, as long as you cant drink tea before your input latency, its fine.

this is for peripherals as well, a better keyboard does not make you better at gaming, just like an expensive knife doesnt make you better at cooking.

if you're getting into it, and have some extra budget that expensive knife may become interesting, but you're not going to get them to start with.

nhatduy's build is spot on for the money.

its less entry level and more mid tier. youll be happy with that.

He said he doesn't have a PC at the moment so he will need Windows 8.1 for about $100.

I prefer 8.1 over 7.  Some people report up to an extra 5fps on games specially titles optimized for 8.1
