Intel Processor on Asus motherboard

Go to solution Solved by NumLock21,

CPU and motherboard must both have the same matching number for it to work together.

CPU is 1150, find a board that has a socket 1150 socket.

I´m working on getting parts together to build my own gaming pc but I´m not sure if my parts work together.

Im looking at an  Asus M5A97 R2.0 and I want an Intel processor, right now im looking at the Intel Pentium G3258 Boxed

although im not sure if this one is suitable for gaming (if you know any other low budgetish processors please let me know).

So my question is, would it be possible to put this processor on the asus moederboard?

No that's a different socket. That ASUS mobo is for an AMD cpu. You'll need a LGA 1150 Z97 motherboard like this

24 fps for that "cinematic" feel

After a couple weeks of behavioral sciences at my school I can easily conclude my parents need to grow up.

This cpu can't go in this mobo because it has the wrong socket. You need a mobo with a lga1150 socket like this. http://www.amazon.de/Asrock-H87-PRO4-Mainboard-Speicher/dp/B00CYWEZXA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432575451&sr=8-1&keywords=lga+1150 The pentium is one of the best gaming cpus at that price point atm.

No, that wouldn't work. That motherboard has an amd am3 socket so it won't fit. There are many asus motherboards where it would work, but that isn't one of them.

this is a good cheap motherboard for intel cpus. the pentium is very good for its price since it can be overclocked(even on cheaper h81 boards if you want to save a little more) and you have an UPGRADE path.so later you just sell the pentium and put in an i5 4460. another very good budget cpu is the i3 4160,4170

As many stated above, you need an Intel socket (LGA 1150 for that CPU) if you are getting an intel CPU. That motherboard is for AMD.
