Recommened PSU?

Zackslay3r
Go to solution Solved by WereCat,

For single 980 550W will be enough, for SLI 980 you should go with 700W-750W pick from brands like:

Seasonic

Super Flower

EVGA

XFX

Silverstone

Antec

Recommened PSU anyone?

Will be running a 980.

Thanks. :)

For most corsair PSUs the OEM is Seasonic so those should be all right but I would avoid Corsair RM series as they dont have very good capacitators (not bad but not very good for the price point in which this series of PSU is as you can have a lot better PSUs from the other brands I mentioned for less money or the same amount of money).

This is incorrect, only one or 2 corsair PSUs are seasonic now

I dont follow PSU market so closely I just remember that most Corsair PSUs in past were manufactured by Seasonic. However the point I said about the RM series still stand.

The RM issue has been changed too, they no longer use mediocre caps. However, they are still overpriced and aren't greatly built compared to similarly priced alternatives, so I still wouldn't recommend them

The Antec Edge is a great PSU. Based on the Seasonic G but with full modularity and a better fan.

The only Corsair now are AX. Pretty much all of the others are CWT.

The CWT RM's still aren't great. Better then the Chicony ones, but still does not outperform options that are cheaper in price, never mind similarly priced.
