Brown/Red/Black. They all sound essentially the same. The quietest option would be to just get whichever he prefers, and then throwing o-rings on them.

unless you're getting blues, their are all basically silent. the only noise you're going to hear is from botteming out the keys while you type. only way to fix that is by simply not typing as hard (which takes practice), or adding o-rings.
