750 or 800watts for a 980 reference?

Snake21
Go to solution Solved by c0d0ps,

750 will be enough for SLI but i would get it some headroom with an 800-850w unless the price is significally higher.

750 is enough for sli, oc and headroom. (as far as I know)

Just like Lozious said, above.

i planning to get a zotac 980 since its cheaper than Asus, will 750 enough or get 850watts for future SLI?

Don't get an RM unless you like wasting money on subpar products. Take a look at options from EVGA like the G2, or competing options from the likes of XFX and Seasonic.

A good 750W will do you fine. An 850W will give you good headroom but in reality you won't be doing any extreme overclocks with the Zotac 980 that will push two of them and the rest of the system past 750W under realistic load conditions.
