Google Privacy Exec. Dies in Nepal Earthquake.

Confirmed late yesterday, head of privacy for GoogleX and Google adventurer Dan Fredinburg was kill as a result of head trauma during the Nepal Earthquake.

http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/sophia-bushs-ex-dan-fredinburg-dies-from-nepal-earthquake-avalanche-2015254

Dan Fredinburg has died at age 33. The Google exec, who previously dated Chicago P.D. actress Sophia Bush, was killed after a Nepal earthquake trigered a Mt. Everest avalanche on Saturday, April 25. Fredinburg's sister confirmed the news on his official Instagram account.

"This is Dan's little sister Megan. I regret to inform all who loved him that during the avalanche on Everest early this morning our Dan suffered from a major head injury and didn't make it," she wrote Saturday. "We appreciate all of the love that has been sent our way thus far and know his soul and his spirit will live on in so many of us. All our love and thanks to those who shared this life with our favorite hilarious strong willed man. He was and is everything to us. Thank you."

Very sad, sounds like he was a nice guy.

There are no adequate words. Today I find myself attempting to pick up the pieces of my heart that have broken into such tiny shards, I'll likely never find them all. Today I, and so many of my loved ones, lost an incredible friend. Dan Fredinburg was one-of-a-kind. Fearless. Funny. A dancing robot who liked to ride dinosaurs and chase the sun and envision a better future for the world," Bush, 32, wrote Saturday.

"He was one of my favorite human beings on Earth. He was one of the great loves of my life. He was one of my truest friends. He was an incredible brother, a brilliant engineer, and a damn good man," she continued. "I'm devastated and simultaneously so deeply grateful to have known and loved him, and to have counted him as one of my tribe."

1,800 others had fallen, too. They were probably nice people as well.. Not to take the seriousness off of this event, but has anyone caught this article? http://www.theblaze.com/blog/2015/04/24/did-a-ufo-fly-up-near-the-erupting-volcano-in-chile/"a horse shaped UFO"

Very true. Would have said more but for some odd reason I can't get the cursor below the second quote box, even when editing.

This is sad.

But what about the other people? are we just going to ignore them :(

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

As I said, I couldn't add any more because I couldn't move the cursor below the second quote box. Anything else I would have written would have been inside that quote box. Not sure why.

Volcano's release an intense amount of heat and ash into the atmosphere. Those kind of things colliding with air can set of sparks and lights, similar to that.

I read an article about that yesterday, some of the things they said didn't add up right to me. Supposedly the current magma chamber is bigger than it was during the previous eruption (the one a few million years ago), but if it did erupt would be a smaller eruption.... Doesn't sound right at all.

If the magma chamber is more spreadout then the pressure would also be spread. More magma would come out, but the height/spread of the eruption would be less

Hadn't thought about it like that. In my mind, "more magma = more heat = more energy overall" etc.

Update: Powerful 6.7 magnitude aftershock just hit. Death toll has been updated to approximately 2,169. Very tragic situation. Possible that entire small villages buried by landslides.

Wow, left field much?  What does Chile have to do with Nepal though?  They are on opposite ends of the planet.

Also, I personally am unfamiliar with theblaze.com but after a cursory inspection they've quickly found their way to my list of sites to ignore.

This is the first I'm hearing about this earthquake, just woke up, pretty horrific news.

Indeed it is. And The Blaze is just another biased news site, started by Glenn Beck. No different than salon.com (socialists), CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, etc. All just as biased as the next.

Although they do occasionally pick up stories that you won't see anywhere else. (college students being denied the right to free speech, black people being harassed for being conservative, women being harassed for being conservative, governmental abuses, etc.)

It's always sad when someone passes away but Dan probably worked extremely hard to get were he was and for it to end many years too soon seems like a waste of talent. Sometimes life can be very cruel. RIP

That honestly looks like something I'd see in Hollywood and I'd think they were exaggerating for dramatic effect.

Absolutely insane.
