Star Citizen at 4k?

dizmo

Someone on here might know (I've seen rumors of such builds), but can 2 Titan X's run Star Citizen on ultra/max settings?

I know that it's been said nothing can, but I find that somewhat hard to believe.

I have a friend who wants me to design a computer for him now, but I'm in the boat of "wait for Pascal".

it should if it implements DX12

DX12 isn't the end of everybody's problems

I have seen people running 4k at low framerates which is fine for pics but I've tried running 4k myself and it won't even display correctly, I get the top right quarter of the screen and nothing else.

  • 2 weeks later...

it should if it implements DX12

DirectX12 and Vulkan will reduce CPU overhead, utilize multicore and combat stutter. Also may help to prevent being bogged down in large battles with too many ships. But running 4k is a problem of raw GPU power...

Game needs to be optimised properly first and foremost, then we'll be bothered with raw power of GPU's

Thing is that DX12 won't fix everything anyway

I think you misunderstand the idea behind it.

Term fix implies that something is broken. DX12 will simply improve a bunch of aspects that are heavy on the performance and relay on Draw Calls and Multi-Core performance.

And that, depending on the implementation from the developer, may be a huge or none of a difference.

Fix - repair, mend, remedy, rectify overhaul.
