Okay, I've fixed it. All I did was lock and unlock the bootloader and now it's good.

Sorry, I'm at work.

So, just tried the application and the program doesn't recognize the device. I have the drivers installed, and I can use Minimal ADB and Fastboot fine with it. I heard it puts the zip in the temp files and you can manually flash it with the phone though?

@GzeroD So, I've figured out why the RUU utility wasn't working, and got it to work. However, somehow it's for an older version of the firmware than I have. I have 4.20.something and the utility is for 3.31.651.2.

If you flash the old one you can just let it OTA update to newest. or you can contact support and they should be able to link you to a newer version.

The last time I did it lollipop was not out yet, not sure what that bootloader error is about. (if you haven't yet you can try locking the bootloader and see if that will allow it to work.)

The last time I did it lollipop was not out yet, not sure what that bootloader error is about. (if you haven't yet you can try locking the bootloader and see if that will allow it to work.)

I had locked the bootloader prior to doing this remembering that leaving it unlocked was an issue last time.

I've been looking around, the swap looks fairly straightforward. Given I heat it up enough, it should come off fine.

Ya I get it, Mine has only left it's otter-box a handful of times. if it breaks it needs to happen before my free screen replacement expires in June.

 

also If i remember correctly you might want to order an extra pair of the speaker grills because they like to crack when you take them off; they are really cheap (sub $5) ( I saw this mentioned when I was looking into replacing the battery.)

The digitizer, glass and display are all fused together anyways. The only thing a broken digitizer would have done is make the phone completely unusable for now, but it's not that usable now considering the embedded shards of glass register touches if they're pressed enough.
