HTC One M8 ! Image Update FAIL !

Okay, I've fixed it. All I did was lock and unlock the bootloader and now it's good.

So, after attempting to flash 0P6BIMG.zip to my HTC One M8 to restore stock (it was a factory image from HTC), I am encountering an issue. While parsing the image, the update fails and prompts me to press power to restart. When I attempt to flash a ROM (CM12/DigitalHigh GPE), the device successfully flashes it, restarts and comes back to the bootloader saying !! Image Update FAIL !!. If I attempt to reboot the phone, it still goes back to the bootloader telling me this. I am also S-On and have TWRP Recovery.

Does it have Fastboot Mode? Because you can try to flash it using a program from your computer to flash a stock ROM.

Do you have a microSD card? Also try re-locking the bootloder, always do that when flashing an RUU with S-ON.

Yeah. This is what I'm using for the image file and the ROMs. I have deleted the 0P6BIMG.zip file from the card to stop it from automatically flashing upon boot, but it wouldn't have worked anyways.

This brings it back to stock, and will remove your custom recovery.

S on needs to be s off, i rooted but only flashed a recovery. Xda dev is going to be best bet.

I know for a fact S-Off isn't necessary. I've been running fine for the last 8 months with S-On, but when I decided to mess around with things today, this happened.

Should just need to enter fastboot

 

(when I used it I already had ADB installed; Some guides tell you to re-lock bootloader)

Don't use that one, it wont work with the CDMA antenna in the Sprint HTC M8

I know for a fact S-Off isn't necessary. I've been running fine for the last 8 months with S-On, but when I decided to mess around with things today, this happened.

never said your phone wouldn't work. It alot easier to do with s off.
