Apples can be expensive, especially the Honey Crisp variety. People hate on them because you can get pears for cheaper and they do the same thing  :D

If it's earning your paycheque, I've literally nothing against getting a suitable mac.  Photo work is fine on a laptop nowadays.

Unfortunately my wonderful Comcast internet is out, says it'll be restored by 6am, which is pretty long, they are pretty spot on usually, so I'll be checking in from time to time,but I hate posting from my phone, so I may not post much

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Good for you. A word of warning though, backup everything, both my self and my mother have had huge issues with OS X corrupting its file system.

Ok...so comcast fixed their outage 5 hours early...can't complain about that I guess. 
I will be backing the drive up daily to an array at home. Unfortunately, there won't be a raid option on-laptop to reduce my down time in case of drive failure, but it is solid state, and it will not die easily from drops, cause for laptops I'm done with mechanical drive for that reason.

Enjoy it! I love OSX, and Macbooks are amazing laptops, lasts for years and hold their value very well in the used market, you cant go wrong with your choice (and yes: haters gonna hate... and hate a lot!)

Same MacBook I got. My first one that was shipped out from China came with a dent so I exchanged it at the apple store. Then the exchanged power brick didn't work so I exchanged that to. After that I am rather happy with my new MacBook Pro and power brick.

My first MacBook Pro was a 2009 model and that things handled life up until this year when it corrupted bad. I am certain it needs a fresh os install but I just don't have time to offload files at the moment so it is just sitting on my desk. Runs. Just not well.

ah fuck I forgot to buy another brick. I bet a local mac store will have one. I want one for to leave in my car in case I forget the charger.

That's standard for receipts. It's to specify you are not being billed for it, and do not owe that.

Yup and this baby is only 85w. But I like the quality of the bricks over the standard laptop ones. Also magsafe connectors = 10/10
