I love Cardcaptor Sakura.  I've never read the manga but I've seen the anime.  I even own the shiny awesome Blu-Ray set that got released within the last few years.  ?

Are you mentioning it just to randomly say it's one of your favorites?  Or some other reason?

The person I quoted suggested yaoi. While I watch and read romance on occasion, I do not watch anything with much sexual content.

I am running Ambient Occlusion through the drivers, so that may be a large cause. The swamp was still the only place where I dropped below 60 fps (dropped to 30 because V-Sync). There was a very substantial amount of smoke effects in the area which results in excessive overdrawn and hits pixel fillrate and memory bandwidth (the latter being in short supply), I'd wager if I enabled my memory overclock, I can maintain 60 fps there.

What do you mean by through the drivers?    Is there another way to do that?  Idk.. ?

Is the bandwidth issue because it's a 960 and not a more powerful card?

(I don't mean to imply a 960 is bad just asking about its capability. )

I really need to play Skyrim before I die.  lol

I just keep running into other games I feel I need to play first.  Like currently I'm playing Dishonored 2 on my PS4.  It's pretty good.  I'd have finished at least a week ago I'd bet but a few end of semester college class assignments have distracted me from getting to play much.

Then I really want to finally play either Pokemon Sun or Moon. ?

Sorry.  I'd meant were you mentioning Cardcaptor Sakura simply because you wanted to say it's one of your favorites or was there another reason you mentioned it?

I didn't mean to inquire about anything porn related.

I don't watch porn online either so it might not be as few people as we might think.

The 960 was considered one of the worst x60 that Nvidia has put out. While compute isn't far off from the 970 (a 1500 MHz GTX 960 is quite close to a reference 970), the lack of memory bandwidth and probably the cut down L2 cache seem to make it perform worse than its other stats would suggest. Indeed, this card also loses ground against cards such as the Radeon 7950, 7979/280X, and in some cases, even less powerful cards as the 7870.

The 7870 has twice the bus width of the 960, to put that into perspective.

I still don't get why it's a 128-bit card. A 192-bit or 256-bit bus would make more sense for an x60 card.

Idk what memory bus width is but I assume less is bad.

Is your 960 a 2GB or 4GB version?

Have you considered upgrading?

Even if you don't need a super powerful card you could get a 1050 ti or a 1060 and be better off if you need a little more horsepower.

What about the GTX 960M, the GPU in my new laptop?

960M is about as powerful as a 750 Ti.

I have an HD 7950 running pretty admirably at 4K for games that aren't recent AAA titles. :)   It's actually a mean little GPU and has been a pretty good investment since I got it in Oct 2013.

It's based on the desktop GTX 750 TI.

128 bit bus. I've a 768P TV I'm using for a monitor, just running in 1920 X 1080. The most demanding game I have in hand is 2013 Tomb Raider which runs just fine, so I won't upgrade.

An unfortunate choice on Nvidia's part, though the card is exactly 1/2 of the 980, including the memory controllers, so it makes some sense.

RIP 5775C (I think that's what it was called?)

The 5775c was designed with the iGPU in mind (it performed as well as a GTX 750). I don't think desktop Kaby Lake will have that capability.

I'd have liked to have gotten the 280X myself, however, I needed CUDA at the time, and Nvidia had nothing whatsoever at the $250 mark.

For the time being, it's fast enough for what I'm playing anyway. With the memory overclocked, I can run Valkyria Chronicles at 4K,60 fps resolution. :P

Yeah, for a lot of console ports to PC, 4K is no problem, at worse you need to enable 30fps caps if they struggle.  (Some games get weird if they fall below 60fps unless using a 30fps cap)

I run a whole handmedown system. There's a workstation (Currently R9 390X), livingroom HTPC on 4K TV (Currently HD 7950) and a bedroom HTPC (Currently HD 6950).  So when the workstation gets a new GPU, things get hand-me-downed along the line.  Once the livingroom box has the 390X in it, it'll be superior to the PS4 Pro, so it should handle couch gaming nicely. :)

Even 2013 TR needs more VRAM and GPU performance than a 960 has.

Unless you turn down a bunch of settings.  Like the hair setting.  Apparently hair is rather GPU straining.  lol

Also, why not buy a 1080p monitor?  You can get a basic one for like $100 or so.
