Did you ever see the movie, My Big, Fat, Greek, Wedding? The main character, played by Nia Vardalos, looked totally dorky at the beginning of the movie, mostly because of her dorky glasses, her dorky hair style, the way the character projected her discomfort with herself (brilliant acting). Just by losing the glasses, changing the hair, using a little makeup, and changing her attitude, she became a total fox. The difference was amazing.

I dunno. But the first college I went to was hilarious.  People kept assuming I was a girl anyway and using female pronouns by default and I only bothered to correct them half the time after the first month.

How people see you depends a lot on how you see yourself.

I think part of it is up to mannerisms and way of speaking. Regardless of one's gender, a lifetime of socialization affects a person. It takes some time to unlearn it. I think over time things will fix themselves.

The two surgical procedures I could see myself doing right now are tracheal shave and orchidectomy... But no plans in foreseeable future for any.

Somewhere on Twitter I saw a link to a reddit thread, the cis bros ranting about Battletech including 'They' pronoun options in the character creator as being the downfall of society and blah blah, you know, normal boiler plate.  And IN that rant there's this tangentic subrant about writer who made 'Gay Snoopy Comic Where Shemale Snoopy Takes It Up The Ass' and I'm 'Wow, I need to find out what this angry old man is ranting about!

So this happened.

Of course, while containing mature sexual content, it's not really porn, more disturbing dark queer thing subverted with character designs styled after The Peanuts and Garfield comics.  So hey, good job angry reddit man, you made a sale for a comic you hated the very idea of. :D

I think people are confusing two things: Wanting more inclusiviity in language vs being a Nazi about it to random people. I was reading a thread on r/askmen where somebody asked if 'cismen ever thought about being girls'. Of the main comments, like 80% of them contained serious confusion or irritation at being called 'cis'. It's like some men are so used to reading stuff from radical feminists that they get triggered by the word 'cis' now. If it's used in a context where it makes sense, like a discussion about gender, then it belongs. People mock the word 'cis' when it makes as much sense as prefix 'trans', it's just the opposite meaning. If people can learn the latest stupid internet slang like 'lit' or 'omegalul', they can learn what 'cis' means.

Tell me you took a selfie ten to fifteen years ago, and my question would be, what the hell is a selfie? I think that word sounds way more stupid than the prefix 'cis'. Yet, we're just used to it. Words get made up when the need arises (or even when there is no need, like with much of internet speak). That's life. If people don't want language to evolve, go live in a cave.

We shouldn't let the angry voices of a few on the fringe make us resentful of the few who are marginalized in society.

the issue is very much in what you just said.

This isn't to get into a discussion of every phrase, but yeah, the term has been abused.  Radical feminists have basically used it as a tool of abuse for so long that a lot of men immediately see a negative connotation with it, regardless of it's intended use.  Cis or not.

Granted, I know what it means, and I know many people don't mean it to be negative, but unfortunately that's what it's become to many people.  All people can really do is continue using the word correctly, and simply tell someone to knock it off who's abusing it.

If someone is going to use it to abuse someone, again, to your radical feminist example, as well, an example, then tell them to knock it off.  Otherwise it'll just continue hurting real discussions in the end.

This sentence doesn't make sense though. 'Cis' is the opposite of trans, it can be used when refering to anyone who is not trans, that's the only usage I've sever seen. (Except when piled up with other words while some angry fuckwit rants about 'The SJWs').  What exactly is using the word 'incorrectly' in your context?

On a site note, I've reached a point where I can't read the word 'SJW' without imagining the person typing it being an angry turd who still lives with their parents.  Like, right up, that word sets off that red flag for me and I can no longer take anything else that person says seriously.  My brain just immediately defaults to 'Haw haw haw, he mad. :3'

I mean, it kind of does make sense.

I'm pretty sure you very well know what I mean when I say people who abuse the word cis.

Yes, it means the opposite of trans, but I'm talking about the people who think that's it's okay to use cis as some derogatory term for cis people, or at the very least, try to add some kind of negative connotation behind it.

But when you use the word 'cis' to refer to 'cis' people that is for sure using the word correctly... o.O

What you mean when the word is used to define a specific group who are then refereed as disparagingly.  That's still using the word entirely correctly.  You just don't like that they have negative things to say about that broadly defined group.

I think everyone should just get along because what's the point of an argument yaknow? It's kinda like telling toxic people they're toxic. Water is wet, dirt is dirty, rich people are rich. Lets all just smoke some j's and love each other.

Come to find out today that my dad has been in the hospital for about a week.  My step mother nor any of my step siblings thought to call me.  I didn't find out until I called my grandfather, and he didn't let me know cause he thought Lisa would have called me, so he's pissed because of thst.

I'm upset also
