Titan X power mod for extreme OC + LN2 benchmarks

Im pretty sure I have seen something like this before. Didn't another major overcloker mod I think it was a 290x or 780, to have additional power.

 

But dude, the power efficiency of Maxwell, I don't think it will even use the amount of power the add-in board would supply.

But dude, the power efficiency of Maxwell, I don't think it will even use the amount of power the add-in board would supply. 

the pro do it with most cards tbh unless they use a really high end custom pcb. he will definitely need more than the stock pcb can provide, the reason there are 5X8 pins is so that they don't get maxed out and the load is spread.

i have some interesting info for the people saying the 5 pcie power connectors are not needed. i have been watching the overclocking tv live stream from france and they have had roman on as a guest and he talked about power consumption an the titan x on extreme cooling,

        -he said that he has seen a single 780ti pull 2400w on ln2, needing 2 psus to power just the one card!

        -titan x is limited to 960A@1.5v even on ln2 which is why the power board is needed. they are even having to upgrade the power board to pull over 960A to handle more power

        - you can imagine that you need 5 2000w psu's to power a system with 4 titan x's on ln2 and maybe more.
