OPPO leak their Bezel-Free Display after Patent reference

SeventhAnomaly

The Chinese phone maker Oppo recently made a patent reference for a phone with an edge-to-edge display and shortly after that they have put up a couple of live pictures of the phone itself and boy does it look good. Although there is not much information about if it is an actual working prototype or if Oppo is planning to pull a quick refresh to a flagship phone to compete with the bigger players like samsung's edge series of phones in the smartphone industry is something we will have to wait and see. For now it's just another rumor to deal with. But it sure is something to look forward to.

Yeah, also cases would only be able to grip the top and bottom so it would have to be a large lip over the edge  :(

Looks like it's going to be a smashing device!

I'm not all that impressed by it, sharp have already done something similar with the aquos crystal and it just makes it more likely to break, which isn't something I'm bothered with.

How do you hold it without the skin from your palm touching things on the screen

I can't even tightly grip my S3 without some of my skin accidentally touching the back/menu buttons occasionally

Same with my M8, I accidentally move icons on the lower rows to the next screen quite often. The last thing we needed was a bezel-less phone.

This is straight up fantastic. I hate bezels on any device, though it doesnt bother me that much on my Desktop Monitor. If my laptop was like the Dell XPS13 i would sing in the streets and if the front of my phone was a single screen and no other bullshit i would be equally excited.

Though we need this for monitors, that would make me go tripple screen.

I don't like this. There has to be at least a little bit of side bezel, at least for me. LG does this nicely.

Didn't LG also leak a completly bezel-free phone? Something saying they hid all the internals behind the screen instead of sticking out the sides (I thought companies weren't dumb enough to do this already.. I've had this in my head for a long time lol).. or is that dead now?

Edit, yeah this:

Well, at least almost no bezel, really thin :P

Borderless screens look really cool, but like others said, especially if you have big hands like me, the amount of times your thumb/palm hit the screen.. I'm used to resting my thumbs/palms on the bezels a lot, which is why I don't like dedicated home buttons (like on samsung phones, my palms always hit them.) Bezels like on the LG G3 are fine, though my tablets bezels (me301t) are perfect for resting on lol.
