I've used baby wipes in the past. Just make sure you don't get those thick ones which drip liquid when you squish them, or at least don't leak it onto the contacts underneath.

Just use toilet paper. You don't need any liquid.

To be perfectly honest that's all I use, or paper towel.

Go to a hardware store. Acetone, mineral spirit's, denatured alcohol will all work.

Go into a pharmacy and ask someone in the pharmacy where they have alcohol wipes. They have them trust me. Diabetics need them to inject insulin. Hell they may just give you a few if you explained why you need them. That's what I would do if you came into my pharmacy.

Diabetics don't need alcohol swabs before they inject every time. Lol.

Nope, really bad idea - just adding additional insult to the injury.

To the OP: Your government doesn't trust you with isopropyl alcohol anymore.  You might be able to get surgical spirits from your chemist, but I doubt it.

But, as others have noted, fast evaporating solvents (like acetone or white spirits) are also fine and can probably be found at a hardware shop.

basicaly all this ^

your not supposed to, isoprypol alcohal is ment to clean the skin before you cut/inject/puncture. If you have a gaping wound, trust me poring isoprypol all over it will hurt more then the actual wound.

hydrogen peroxide is a better liquid to use on cuts

Good and soft toilet paper will take care of just about every bit of thermal paste.  Whatever is left really won't affect cooling capacity so IMO isopropyl alcohol is completely unnecessary.  I've ghetto'ed paste replacements like that, and don't notice any temperature difference whatsoever compared to the "proper" procedure.

Still, if you really want to clean it after giving it a once-over with TP, you can't go wrong with those moist wipes for glasses.  I pay 2 or 3 EUR for a box of 40, and it only takes one.

Isopropyl is just great for cleaning electronics in general.

they should. And even if some don't a pharmacy will carry them.

There's plenty of things you should do. But it just comes down to a waste of time. In reality you're not going to get an infection if you don't swab.

Yes and that's irrelevant to my original point. They are a necessary diabetic supply and all pharmacies should carry them. At the very least if the pharmacy dones vaccinations they have them because they MUST use them every time.

I wasn't posting in regard to whether they should have them in his country or not, because they should, and I shared my opinion on cleaning your CPU. All I was saying is diabetics are not required (i.e. your doctor doesn't tell you) to swab/clean the area.
