I see on the profile pages of users it says "Display name history". Just wondering if or when there will ever be a chance to change my name.

 

Can you guess what I want mine to be?

Name changing can only be done through a moderator. You'd need a fairly good reason and a good track record to get it changed though.

Or just be really good at writing convincing PMs to Mods. Just sayin'. :D JK

Name changing can only be done through a moderator. You'd need a fairly good reason and a good track record to get it changed though. 

 

I see. Well maybe getting a ton of BOINC credits for the team will help haha

most of the name changes have been for pretty useless reasons... not naming names

Well, a good track record at least. I got mine changed at around 4,500 posts with a clean record, but I didn't really give a reason xD

Rep shouldn't? No. It doesn't. Literally, all you have to do is PM a mod and say something like:

Could I get my name changed from Jade to abc123? It's my new alias, and I've abandoned my old one.

I did the same thing and was told that they wouldn't change it unless it was necesarry (for example your real name)

see oshino's name. the reason he had his changed to oshino because it's his favorite character from monogatari. i wouldn't call that necessary. :|

 Yeah I know. I was giving an example showing that you're not guaranteed to get your name change if you just ask and give a reason. I wasn't stating the forum rules.
