MSI Puts AMD HD7730 online

Hey guys,

According to the leak by Videocardz, MSI will be launching a new card based on this budget GPU called the R7730-1GD5V1.

The MSI HD 7730 graphics card is rumored to launch sometime today for 70 Euros, or about $90 USD. (At least we will not have long to wait to see if the rumors are true!)

Funny thing is I am sure it can run Battlefield 3 on low.

Good to see companies gearing up for the fight against next-gen consoles. I will need examples of affordable computer parts that are more powerful than a console.

Both consoles have far more powerful GPUS than this.

We don't know there aren't any benchmarks of this card yet, and the next gen consoles use dual graphics right? (correct me if i'm wrong)

The GPU specs for the console have been leaked so we know, and only one gpu.

A $400 console will not have a GPU that even comes close to this.

If Sony/Msoft can manufacture/acquire a GPU that rivals a 7770 and still sell a whole machine for $400-$500 then they should move into the PC selling business. They would sell billions overnight.

I highly doubt they can get one that cheap, even if they were designed in house or they struck a sweet deal with AMD. They still have to make money.

I would say a next-gen console will have the power equivalent of a 5750 AT BEST.

lol look it up the XBOX One is a HD7790 less one compute unit and the  PS4 is a HD7870 with one less compute unit.

We don't know for sure. I want to see microsoft.com links and sony.com links before I believe that for a second.

Man dont be so arrogant , ps4 and Xbox one will play games and they will do it well. They will be competing with pcs that cost around $750 for the first two to three years and then will begin to fall behind again . They maybe not be as good as pc but will be respectable at what they do

But you have no idea about the low levels to which they can use the hardware to gain xtra performance.

But they aren't selling at a $100-$200 loss. They sell at something much lower than that.

I seem to remember them saying that they weren't going to sell at a loss this (next?) generation (PS4 & XBox One). It was a while ago when I heard that so it may not be true any more...

Yes I say $750 dollars as a reference sure they cannot compete hardware wise but the consoles are optimised to the max so they will perform in GAMES close or around a $750 dollar pc at launch

remember that both are APUs. inherently cheaper. only one set of RAM is needed, so there's no additional vram cost (a gig of ddr5 can run up to 25 USD). also, the CPU isn't comparative to a 3570K. It's similar to an 8350 clocked at about 2ghz.

basically, it's a APU with much better on-board graphics than anything we've seen before. but because of the cheaper ram, only an HDD, and so on, I'm expecting them to be making the mobo and APU for around 320 USD, the PSU for another 40 (I don't see thing more than 350-400w) the HDD for 40, and the ODD for another 15. also, don't forget retail prices of PC parts are already generating revenue, the retail cost is NOT the cost of production.

Daily Driver:

Case: Red Prodigy CPU: i5 3570K @ 4.3 GHZ GPU: Powercolor PCS+ 290x @1100 mhz MOBO: Asus P8Z77-I CPU Cooler: NZXT x40 RAM: 8GB 2133mhz AMD Gamer series Storage: A 1TB WD Blue, a 500GB WD Blue, a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

Will yo even benefit from that card or are you just better off with on-board haswell HD graphics or a top-end AMD APU?

I use i5-3470, 8GB kingston, SSD + 2x hdd, GTX 970

You could even get a i3 and it would work fine, better yet get a fx4350 and save even more money and still get decent results.

Im happy that they made this card, it will help everyone with htpcs and for people getting pcs such as dell ones as this is the type of gpu they would shove in a dell and im happy that people will get more powerful products as the budget gpu to get is the 6670 and that is ooollllllldddd.

the next gen consoles have gpus that are equivalent to the 7790 (xbox one) and the 7850(ps4 ... well actually the ps4 is a tad stronger due to having more cores despite being underclocked)

(1) high frame rate (2) ultra graphics settings (3) cheap...>> choose only two<<...

if it's never been done then i'm probably tryna do it. (((((((Bass so low it HERTZ)))))))
