And it has arrived in SJ California. It's almost 90F here right now, and it's only march...

Okay basically what i'm asking is 

 

HOW DO I COOL MY ROOM DOWN

Btw the central AC doesn't come to my room for whatever reason. It's so hot in my room that i need to go downstairs and ditch my pc

I have car windshield reflector cooling thingies on my 6Ft Diagonal Big Window, FACING THE FREAKING SUN (west)

I'm sweating just writing this..

The problem is that my window faces the sun so

1. I can't see anything

2. Monitors get blasted with heat

  - That same heat burns my room, which has carpeted floors....

Won't work, my window is a horizontal sliding window, no small ac will fit

I would find a way of altering the ducting to make the aircon come to your room :)

It's really hard because it would mean that my dad would have to go up to the attic and try seeing if the duct is clogged, damper closed etc.

Also my parents hate turning on the central ac because "It waste energee"

Thats the point. You've got that tube thing so the airconditioner doesn't have to sit in the window. The white bit of plastic can sit vertical too. That's how mine is.

But there's still a piece that has to go through the window, with my window that peice/pipe thingy won't fit

gg, air conditioner won't work.

 

Try to get your parents to install a split unit. They're like 600 dollars and also heat the room too without costing anything in fuel, since it uses a heat pump (basically a reverse AC), and some of them are real sexy.

Why not? Is the window 6 feet tall? Wost case is you hot glue some cardbord to seal the exhaust.

wait u can mount that plastic piece that connects to the duct vertically?? That may be the best solution!

I swear it's -20 in the winter and 120 in the summer...

 

And my computer doesn't help...

I feel you. Temperature differences are so drastic in California. One day it could be -25F, the next it could be 125F. But I just dusted my PC and replaced the thermal paste, which does seem to improve it quite a bit.

Yeah. That's how I had mine last summer. its finiky, so you might have to use some hot glue, but it works fine.

Vinyl, ur awesome!!!! I showed my dad the portable AC and he said i can get it this summer! Thanks man!

 

My parents already have a portable ac in their window, which is the same size as my window, my dad made a wooden portable bracket for the ac unit, but the problem is my window is right in front of my desk, so i can't get a portable ac even if i wanted to
