You can raise the power limits, but you won't be able to get more voltage out of it. So, if you are running GPUz during your highest overclock testing, and not seeing green in the perf cap line on the sensors tab, then yes....you're at the limit you're gonna get. If you DO see green in the perf cap reason line, then raising the power limits will help.

nope, its red D:

I want to buy a second 970 for SLI, what brand should I pick for the best of the best OverClocking capabilities?

the thing is Ive seen it OCing very poorly, and G1 or Msi ones having greater voltage control and higher Oc capabilities. I also plan on watercooling them.

Wasn't there a thing that both GPU's had to have same clock speed in SLI?

I can get the same overclock on my G1 at 1.262v as I can with 1.275v or 1.300v

1650mhz on the core & 2053mhz on the Samsung memory. Stable in a run through Valley & Firestrike.

What score do you get with single card at 1650 and 2053 on valley?

You sure that hasn't already been flashed, man?  With the ACX 2.0 FTW you should have been hitting a power limit long before 1600, AND, the max voltage set in the bios on the FTW is 1.262, and they'll usually only go to 1.256v.  I'm thinking you're already running a flashed bios......

Also, I don't think most people are going to be running 1650 on Valley.  Just sayin.  At that level, the core clock really isn't going to do much for you.  You'd be better off trying to get more memory clock out of it, even if it means dropping the core a tad.

Oh this isn't the FTW this is the MSI G1 gaming I think with a block already on it, Yeah maybe I should push the RAM again, tbh that run was with a cold card after playing some games it becomes a bit warm and starts to become unstable.

Yeah I think the same. If you lower your clocks down to about stock & keep going up on the Memory speed to see what the max speed if it is.

Then start on going up on your clocks. Then you will be getting a better Valley score.

My score is as below

That's a good score.  My fastest is 3 points under that.  I think it was with 1607 on the core and 2050 on the memory...maybe 2100, I'd have to look again.  I'm thinking it's 2050 though.

I do have a faster score of 3135. Thou it's not uploaded onto Photobucket & the score difference is not that much to worry about.

I think I have the 3rd or 4th highest score for a GTX 970. The higher scores all have there memory at a faster speed than mine.

Which I think shows that Valley also likes memory speeds more than actual clock speeds.
But that 2063 on my Samsung memoey is the absolute max I can get without is crashing.

Mine runs as 1605Mhz core & 2000Mhz memory 27/7 in everything with no problems at all.

What do you think guys?

Graphics: 13706

Physics: 6758

Total: 10362

My G1 970 is weird. I got a 1560Mhz/8Ghz Overclock with 1.212V.

Tried with 1.225 and 1.262 and it seems that it's more stable and I don't get artifacts at 1.212

Is that OK considering that I have it with an i5 4570?

Pretty nice considereing your CPU.  The 4570 definitely held it back though.  Here's mine with a 4690k.  http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/9646815.  I have yet to run firestrike with the 1506Mhz BIOS I flashed last night though.

Your graphics score was higher than mine but the fact that my CPU was clocked a whole Ghz above yours gave me those extra 500 points.  I don't think it's worth an upgrade though.  We're both still in the top 87% despite the score difference.

I was playing with firestrike and got this, http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/9648714? I did get a higher graphics score later on but my overall score was lower due to the FX needing more speed.

Haven't been able to.  Even 1507Mhz on the core, my score didn't go to high.  Maybe i'll try overclocking the CPU higher after finals are over. http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/9647617

I wouldn't worry about overall scores.  Just watch the graphics scores and compare those.  They're the only thing that really matters when comparing GPUs anyway.  970s with a custom bios and a good overclock should be pulling 14k+ graphics scores.  My highest is 14880 in test runs, and 14760 during a scoring run.  Those scores with 1633 on the core and 2176 on the memory.

lol, yeah...that's a pretty awesome overclock for a 3770k.  I'd bet that's under water....minimum.  Maybe phase change or chiller.

This is my high score on scoring runs.  I'm tryin to coax a little more out of it, to hit 15k graphics score on a single 970, but.....I don't think I'm going to get there.
