is youtube losing its charm?

is it just me or is youtube losing its charm, i dont mean the fact that our fav. channels are getting boring. i mean the website itself, its used to be an awesome place where everything just...worked. i upload videos and though i may be tiny in the space, with all thats going down with the latest advertising ban, or how hard it is to actually monitor your videos compared to that 1 click of a button that you have before. where the stupid strikes can take someones livelihood away or youtube appeasing to copyright more than the content creators themselves and what the people that youtube makes money from actually want. 

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

Yeah.. YouTube has been going downhill..

When the most viewed channels are a annoying 20 year old screaming at games and a female who doesn't show her face unboxing toys...

Yeah... Now there is always the worry of in-game music causing strikes for example, or constant pondering of restrictions and in cases profitability.

i didnt even go the the thing about how views on videos is like winning the lottery now, a guy with a 2MP camera can record a video of a ladybug on a flower and get 10000 views, compared to me or you who have an idea of video production and the quality, but only end up getting like 5 views.

Yup.. Flooded with similar & predictable content also lotta prop videos & misinformation  & too much Shit just made up out of nothing just for the cause to make a video & put it out there more like unwanted issues just being forced targetting to the audience, Literally too  much going on

Success will do that to things unfortunately. It's a cash cow and it's getting milked. For now it's bearable, let's hope it remains bearable.

it probably wont be. there is such a good chance that there are back room meetings going on about paying the creators less money and still getting insane profits. its such a likely thing to happen.

You don't want to know how many shitty channels i have blocked using  chrome extensions because they always show up when i open the website.

on my second Account all the channels are still there, i made a gmail account and transferred my channels, and emptied the subs on my old account, every time i go and log onto my old account, it still updates all the subscriptions.

That's why most of my time is watching stuff on Twitch. I was thinking of starting a YouTube hobby (which has been put on hold because I'm at college and my computer is not with me), but I may end up trying to stream instead once summer comes, then upload highlights and the sort to my YouTube channel.

 

But I agree, it just doesn't have that charm it use to. I think it's all of Google's bullshit rules.

If google didn't try to milk it as much, with all the new rules then i wouldn't say it was losing its charm but now its like ahh google you got enough money, why do you need even more?

YouTube can't possibly lose any more charm, they are way into negative figures already. It is just a plague upon society you put up with for lack of a real alternative.

The YouTube sub boxes and suggestions are just so weird..

Home page only shows stuff you watched a lot in a row or whatever and some suggestions.

The 'Subscriptions' box is also very weird, since it just doesn't show everything and sometimes shows stuff double.

 

And the clickbait titles and thumbnails man...
