GTA V delayed again?

Well I kind of expected this from Rockstar after their release of GTA IV on PC, but to delay it 3 times seems a little too much for me. I rather have them announce that it will be released next year then them constantly pushing the deadline 1 month before it's "scheduled" release. Plus the pre-order incentive is their so was this all planned to get more potential pre-orders?

 

 

What are your guys' thoughts on the whole delaying the release date?

gonna hate them now and love them when its released, they can play with us however they want, look at COD everytime the "community" is like yeah we will not buy the next until they make it better, still all people are buying it. It' hard not to be mad at them.. But (hopefully) It' delayed for all the right reasons.. Fully supported DX12 is a must now!

People keep speaking about this like it's for the better and that the game will be more polished when it comes out, but I find this unacceptable to be honest. If any other company in any other industry put up a delivery date and then delayed it by several months over several separate delays they would be absolutely ripped to shreds. Get your shit together Rockstar.

I agree, if it was like 1 delay, which was announced early then I could understand that as they may have under estimated the time it would have taken to make the PC version. But 3... 3 is way to far

I don't agree with linus that it is fine as long as the game is better. They need to be held accountable for not delaying and releasing a good product. That being said I'm fine with it being pushed back once but this is nothing new with Rockstar.

Honestly Rockstar giving out money for pre orders just ruins the the whole concept of earning money till the goal. Some people including myself prefer earning and grinding survival/doing missions for cash. Its kinda like, if you buy our game earlier, the game will be easier for you and those who do not have to grind

There may be something to be said for keeping a release date quiet until they're sure they can meet it (though that generates consumer angst as well). But overall the fact that they're holding the game back until they're sure it's polished should be considered a very positive thing after so many disastrous AAA releases in 2014. No one is going to remember or care how many times it was delayed if it releases as an excellent PC port.

It's not a positive thing, it's terrible project planning. What they should've done is set a release date that had plenty of padding for them to comfortably finish the game in the first place and then stick to that. This is unacceptable.

I acknowledged that it was terrible project planning in the first sentence of my post. But that mistake has already been made. The correction to that mistake is not to release the game as quickly as possible and in whatever state it happens to be in, the answer is to be honest about it and postpone the project until it's in a state that will result in a successful release. What's positive is that they seem to have chosen the latter option.

I'm not going to vote with my wallet, I've been excitedly waiting for the game for more than 4 years now and I'm going to play the bejesus out of it if it ever makes it to PC. That doesn't make it okay. I would've been perfectly fine with the delay if it had been one delay, I wouldn't have cared either if April 14th was the date it was originally delayed to, but 3 delays is fucking ridiculous. We just about get to the point where we finally start dreaming about playing the game again, getting all excited and they slam on another delay. It's not okay.
