AT2020 Boom Arm

Anthrax

Hey guys, I'm planning on upgrading my microphone to the AT2020. I've looked at several reviews and compared it to the Yeti. For my needs (YouTube, Voice Overs, Game Casting, Communicating with players via Teamspeak, etc.) I found it to be the best option. Now that I have decided on a microphone I need to find a good "Boom Arm" or a stand to support the microphone. I've searched around on amazon and I honestly don't know what to buy. All the ones I've looked at have very mixed reviews. I don't mind paying a little bit more money for a quality stand unless it is way overpriced (We are talking over $100). What are your guys recommendations? I live in Canada by the way so I would prefer not buying off American stores as our currency is so horrible right now.

I'm in the same boat as you on this one, also plan to get the at2020, though I may end up getting the usb or usb plus version depending on if I can get a small mixer or not for cheap.

If I go with the XLR version, I planned to get the exact stand that @awesomes8wc3 said.

Is that similar to http://www.amazon.ca/AGPtek%C2%AE-Broadcasting-Microphone-Suspension-Scissor/dp/B007PR4ZFM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1424781097&sr=8-4&keywords=at2020? If so is that one okay? I'm really confused reading all the reviews for these booms, some people say its good others say its horrible.

The neewer one Logan uses is what I use with my Yeti, it's most likely compatible with the AT2020 as well. (Seeing as he uses one with his AT2020)

I think it was like $14, it works great.  I ran the cable along the arm then ziptied it in place, and it also doubles as security for the arm not falling if it ever decided to.

I've had it so far for like........ 4 months I believe, and it's still working great without any issues.

Even if it was to break, seeing as it's so cheap I wouldn't mind at all.

Man it sucks to live in Canada, after currency exchange it will cost $60 CAD just for the arm... So right now my options are to get that or to get this, http://www.amazon.ca/AGPtek%C2%AE-Broadcasting-Microphone-Suspension-Scissor/dp/B007PR4ZFM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1424781097&sr=8-4&keywords=at2020I could be wrong but this basically looks like a re-branded version of the one Logan uses?

Are you going to be moving it enough to justify a desk mount?  You could just use a Boom stand http://www.amazon.ca/Stage-Stands-MS7701-Tripod-Microphone/dp/B000978D58/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1424797878&sr=8-2&keywords=boom+stand

Even with a shockmount, if you bang your desk with a scissor arm your 2020 will pick it up.  A boom stand is still fairly adjustable, is far more secure and completely eliminates shocks from hitting your desk.

Just get the cheapest one you can find. They're all usable, but also all have the same common potential issues.
