6.5mm vs 3.5mm jacks?

killerdann12

So i've been looking at o2 amp/dac and was wondering if there is a difference in quality between the 2. the 6.5mm ones all cost more.

Either you're master race or you're not.

no quality difference, just 6.25 are preferred because it just locks better and is physically more reliable

You will need adapter if you go for 6.5 and you have 3.5 headphones.

There are no advantages.

6.5mm are used on stages so that connector doesnt pop out easily.

The bigger jack is more expensive because it involves more labor to install it into the O2, not because it makes any difference to the sound quality.

Sound quality? No change... Aesthetics and Support (without an adapter) for certain sound hardware and reliability are the only differences it's like USB vs Micro USB assuming they're the same gen of USB (EG as long as they are both gen 2 or 3)

I personally went with the larger jack on my 02 simply because most headphones on the market that are middle to high end come with a 1/4" adapter plug preinstalled, so there is no worry about losing it.

My PC specifications are in my profile.

I have a box full of those adapters...I have more adapters than headphones that can use those adapters lol.
