Broken LCD?

TiCKLZ

Hi guys,

So I was trying to fix this tablet's (ASUS Fonepad 7 K00E) broken touch screen, when suddently it starts showing some kind of stripes in the screen or so? I don't know if it's broken or ...

post-188564-0-37079600-1423504998_thumb.

Is there any way to fix this like DIY kinda stuff or do I really need to buy a new LCD? :/

Thanks for the help!

97% sure you need a new LCD :S

Is there any pressure on the screen? like the bezel squashing it when you were trying to fix the digitizer?

Yeah, just the LCD panel is bust. Does it still accept screen input? I don't think you can buy a LCD panel only. After the iPhone 4 i think everybody fused the digitizer and LCD panel together.

May be wrong though.

Those lines look like either the LCD has failed or the ribbon cable that connects it to the board is loose. When you say trying to fix the screen, what exactly where you doing at the point it failed?

i'm pretty sure I'll have to buy one too... I was trying to get the digitizer out of there, and it took me awhile cause it had a lot of glue, and when i finished turned it on to see if everything's ok and show me this .... I guess i putted to much pressure at some point and it cracked...

In this case I can, cause the digitizer and the lcd are 2 separate parts

I was getting the digitizer out man. If i put one finger in top of it some of the stripes from the top disapears tough

before you assume it is broken, check the ribbon cable to see if it is loose.

Also, why were you trying to fix it before? What was wrong with it then?

I think its really unlikely that any kind of cable got loose, how old is that tablet? though the lines indicate that it could also be a problem related to the graphics chip. have you tried whiping the tablet clean maybe reinstall os (no clue how android, which i assume it is works).
