What is the most overpriced used tech deal you have ever seen?

Chuck Norris

Have you stopped and thought that these 'morons' are trying to make money? If they've got an unopened PC from 2006, they will try to sell it. You've posted on this thread at least 5 times calling them jackasses and morons. As long as people buy them, it's the customer that's the moron.

...and as long as these scam artists keep ripping people off I'll keep trashing them.

Is it still a "pretty freaking good"  deal when the drive dies in 3 days?

Who's to say its not legitiment? It could be a real unused product. You don't know.

Sony's PS eye is quite expensive. I find it hard to believe that the PS eye is much different on the insides from a 15 dollar Logitech webcam.

Does anyone even use PCIe SSDs?

$1250 for a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 3.06 Ghz 4GB RAM non-retina.

The price may be close to the going rate for that era of MBP, but it still seems steep seeing that its THREE microarchitectures behind.

That's why you're better off not buying used because you can't trust someone who is selling something, if they want the money bad enough they'll say anything and you've no way to call them on it nor is there any way to get your money back if you got shafted.

Anyways

Pretty much everything on craigslist, you all know what I'm talking about. Laughably outdated laptops that wouldn't be as fast as a modern smartphone if you taped three of the dammed things together, those crappy pizza box style office PC's that were made in the zillions that everyone and their mom is trying to sell because they think it's still relevant by today's standards. "Just Built" extreme gaming PC's with 5 year old low end parts, no joke I saw one that had a core 2 duo E4500, 2 GB of RAM 180GB barracuda, a GT 220 and Windows Vista in some ridiculous case that was all neon colored and covered in stickers and the advertisement went something like this. " I just build this PC last year but I decided that I don't want it so I'm selling it, I used the best parts available and everything can overclock like crazy. This PC can play anything you want on the highest settings at 60fps, I spent $1200 on this but I'm only asking for $600."   not word for word but close, I took a screenshot of it for lulz but I've misplaced it, I'll look around for it and post it if I find it.

This local woman wants $38 for a 2001 Compaq Presario 5310US Celeron 1.2 GHz 256MB RAM (yes, megabytes!!!!) 40GB UltraDMA w/ monitor, mouse and keyboard.

SOCKET 370!!!!! P3 Era!!! This thing is less than worthless. it might be in the negatives!!!

The keyboard is sweet, so i'm trying to get it off her for nickels. Also the monitor is from 2005, but it be good for my linux laptop.

If its all still working and was a actual P3 not a celeron It could be quite useful for replacement parts.

As per an ebay post (scam computer) for $6100 you can get the amazing computer of

- i7 920

- 2 gb DDR3 RAM

- 250W PSU   ....................................................................>.> I didnt know they came this small

- "so called" Ultra Powerfull ATI RAGEIIc 3D GPU     .........I think this was one of the first gpus ati ever brought to market, not to mention its a pci gpu

- 36gb Harddrive

- Custom Liquid cooling......................................................Custom as in dumping Koolaid over your PC?

- Custom PC case

- Windows ME..................... ...............................................(Barfs)

- Modem Card.....................................................................(Huh?)

Its these kind of ebay sellers than make me want to reach through my screen and knock them upside the head, as they are just blatent attempts at scamming for anyone with the slightest clue about pc hardware, not to mention most of the hardware dosent work together, or is so antiquated there would be no functionality.

That is totally someone trying to troll

$350 for a PowerBook G4. They say its "like new", which is odd considering it was discontinued in 2006.

$85 for used 2 x 2gb DDR3-1066 204-pin SODIMM. It was apparently taken out of a BRAND NEW MacBook Pro, which i guess somehow justifies the price.
