Upgrading from HD 7750, which GPU should I buy?

bTecneB

Long story short:

Looking to buy a new GPU, would like to spend as little as possible, but still get a performance gain from my HD 7750. Maybe something that can play Far Cry 4 at 1080p on medium or something like that. Doesn't matter if AMD or Nvidia, thank you in advance :)

960 is way to overpriced, the 280 is $30 cheaper or something like that for like 35% more performance

A 280 is not 35% faster than a 960

R9 280 will handle Far Cry 3 easily :) I wouldn't spend the money on a GTX 960, it's not worth the extra cash tbh

I personally would say the 960, but look it up there are good cards at that price

R9 280

Nevermind I thought that that the 280 was 1.38GHz not the 960

You can't compare clock speeds/#of cores between different cards/chips/architectures.

The R7 260X is pretty cheap here in Serbia. Will that give me any kind of performance boost?

It will but its not worth it honestly , i would recommend you to get at least a 270 if you want a significant upgrade.

My can play far cry 4 very high without breaking a sweat.

Is this a good card? It costs $176 and it is the cheapest 270X, the 270s cost more

270x is a overclocked 270 , if its cheaper get the 270x.

Depends on your resolution , at 1080p is quite decent for high settings gaming.

Its not a 1080p ultra card however.

From the guru 3d review.

Honestly at 1920x1080/1200 monitor resolutions these cards do make a lot of sense as all modern games produce average framerates in the 40 to 50 FPS with pretty heavy image quality settings.

You can read the whole review here:

Thats the review of the msi version but all the cards will perform the same if you OC them to the same clocks.
