[SiliconLottery.com] 4.7GHz 4790k for $280

BiG StroOnZ

SiliconLottery.com has recently dropped a lot of their prices. For you that are not familiar with this website, basically they sell binned processors. Which means they sell their processors already guaranteed to hit a certain frequency. Taking the guessing work out of overclocking, and doing the hard stuff for you.

Right now they have a 4790k that's guaranteed to do 4.7GHz @ 1.3v which is pretty damn good for $280 since it's very close to Microcenter's prices. Whereas if you were to get it from Microcenter you are paying close to the same price practically but you aren't guaranteed to hit 4.7GHz with it (or from Newegg or other online retailers, it's more expensive and is definitely not guaranteed to do 4.7GHz). Whereas from SiliconLottery they guarantee it can do 4.7GHz @ their recommended settings or you get a full refund.

If you haven't seen the review for their products, Guru3D did one not too long ago here: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/core_i7_4790k_processor_5_ghz_review_a_silicon_lottery,1.html Where they praised them that the chip they were sold was guaranteed to do 5.0GHz daily stable.

Here is the link to the 4.7GHz 4790k (1.3v/1.90v VCCIN): http://siliconlottery.com/collections/frontpage/products/4790k47g?variant=1040399035

They have other CPU's at other frequencies as well, in case you are interested in something faster and more powerful for a little more money: http://siliconlottery.com/collections/all

Cheaper than my 4790K by a fair margin... At least mine hits 4.8 GHz on a H55 so I shouldn't be one to complain anyways

I think he sold out of all the 4690k's and doesn't have them in his SKU anymore. I know last week he had 4.8GHz 4690k's for cheap, but they are all gone now I think.

I meant 4790K. xD My brain is roasted.

It's £50 cheaper to buy this overclocked to 4.7ghz at 1.3v then get it shipped to Northern Ireland than it is buy one off Amazon UK...

Gaming they go anywhere from 50-70C, and under stress testing it doesn't go over 82 C :)

Sounds pretty solid for an H55  :)
