Is this Laptop Good?

chriscoolzap

Hey,

So I have been looking for a laptop that has a nice 1080p 15.6 inch display, Intel Core I7-4710MQ, Nvidia GTX 860M, 8GBor16GB, 1TB 7200RPM, with a kind of mid range size factor and is around $1000 to $1150. Any recommendations? I was thinking of this: http://www.amazon.com/GL551JM-DH71-GeForce-GTX860M-Optimus-Technology/dp/B00MMMMMX2/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1421183910&sr=1-6&keywords=ge60

CPU: Intel Core I74790k

Asus laptops have always been good to me, the only thing is that with this specific type I would get a cooling pad as well. The standard ones with the dual exhaust fans in the rear have awesome cooling, but this has the GPU and CPU on the same heatsink, so it will probably get pretty warm.

Desktop: i9 11900k, 32GB DDR4, 4060 Ti 8GB 🙂

That would be a great option.  Another good option would be the Lenovo Y50.

Personally, I wouldn't want a quad core in a laptop, a fast dual core will get you the same performance in tasks that aren't heavily threaded while getting you better battery life.
