ImBleu

Its a bit different from Windows 7, but it doesn't take much to get used to.

Does/will windows 10 have a normal, regular start menu like in Win7?

Windows 10 is basically a hybrid between Windows 7 and 8. It has a start menu (it's not full screen like in Windows 8) but it has live tiles.

Other than not being able to arrange the tiles however you want (video link) it's pretty good.

Uh... How can anything, let alone an operating system, be a hybrid of itself?

I was specifically talking about the start menu/screen because that's what the person I was replying to was asking.

I accidentally typed 10 when I meant 8 though. Thanks for noticing that.

Windows 8.1> Windows 7 anyways in my opinion. A lot faster and cleaner looking. I personally have no issue with the start button not being there. I actually liked the original Windows 8. Sure there were some flaws, but overall great OS IMO

Life.exe is missing

Refusing to use an operating system because of the metro ui is stupid...

Windows 8.1 in my opinion is great.

LTT CSGO SERVER! IP 8.12.22.45!~  Connect by connecting on csgo console

Use console command "connect"   --->  connect 8.12.22.45

Another good thing I found in Windows 10, it handles Intel Speed Step a lot better than Windows 7, all multipliers seem to be getting used on my Core 2, not just x6 and x9.5. (Boots faster on the 4200RPM Sata1 2.5" drive than Windows 7 ever did BTW)

How is it better than Windows 7? I actually know the answer to this but I want to hear your answer since you're calling me stupid.

A few pages back I listed a bunch of other reasons (that aren't metro) why I dislike it but the start screen is by far my biggest complaint.

Yeah.. the start screen wasn't the brightest idea considering that its aimed at touchscreens, and the majority of PC users don't use them.

Fuck no, I'm not moving to 8 even if someone paid me to, I'll keep using 7 for years.

They should at least put their new systems at a discount if you already have Windows. And I agree with you, I like 7 better than 8.

...

They do. Or at least they did. It's called the "Upgrade" license. I'm not sure if Windows 8/8.1 still has them, but all previous editions did. You could buy the Upgrade License of Windows 7 if you already owned Windows Vista. Or you could buy the full retail/OEM package if you wanted greater freedom or it was for a new PC.

Furthermore, Windows 8 was on sale for as low as $20 for months after release. Microsoft often has a really steep discount on each new version of Windows when first released. I see no reason why they would change this with Windows 10.

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

iPhone Xr 128 GB Product Red - HP Spectre x360 13" (i5 - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD) - HP ZBook 15v G5 15" (i7-8850H - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - NVIDIA Quadro P600)

Yes. Windows 8 has an upgrade version for all its edition.

And it was 15$ if you recently (within a generous time frame) bought a computer.

40$ for Windows 8 Pro Upgrade + Media Center pack. The upgrade applied to Windows XP and up.

Windows 7 upgrade was: Windows 2000 and up (for a limited time). Then Windows XP and up.
