How does Apple know if you have installed OS X on VB

How do they find out that you installed Yosemite or OS X on virtual box. Not that I did it

its unlikely they will or that they care enough to do anything about it

 

but its possible that they could work it out when your computer communicates back to their servers

Lmao thats not going to happen! Just do ive done it a ton of times i even did to use a torrented version to make a bootable mac osx drive so i could make a hackintosh with a torrented version of mac osx and nothing happened. Apple isnt really reliant on there OS for there money like Microsoft is not that Microsoft does anything to people pirating windows anyway.

Aside from legal action, they part they care about is not selling systems. If you do things to take away their system sales, like sell their software on another system, that would spark their interest possibly.

they probably could but its 200% unlikely that they would bother spending money and time on it, and since you are still probably going to buy software from the store and further the OSX platform they probably dont really mind

they may be able to see that your system serial number is not correct, but as long as you're not making your mony with it, it shouldn't be a problem

 

if you have to rely on it you should really look into buying the real deal

I think there was an article I read that said that they can take legal actions against you in the Terms and Conditions but I doubt they would waste time and money on trying to track everyone who has a hackintosh in the world down, especially if you are not selling their softwares or selling rigs with their OS in it.

Nope. The are no serial keys tied to OS X so you can install your copy on as many systems as you like. They can only blacklist the systems physical serial number which on Hackintoshes can be changed at free will.

The only legal action for a TOS violation successfully taken against George Hotz by sony for jailbreaking the pS3 and releasing cracked firmware and libraries and stuff. It was like a 65mil lawsuit or something crazy. That said, it may not have help up in court, he settled for several hundred thousand.

Yea, thats what I meant in my post, they don't usually hunt you down if you haven't made money or do something illegal with their stuff and even if they do, most can escape it or reduce the fine significantly
