The journalists have received countless threats from Islamic terrorist groups over the years under the guise of jihad and avenging their prophet Muhammad. Bullshit story eh? I understand islamiphobia is out of control in the world, people fear Muslims for no reason. The majority of them are normal people but this is why I hate religion. It gives bad people a really easy conduit to do despicable things, this goes for muslims, Hindus, Christians etc. It turns good people into bad people and bad people into killing machines.

 

I will still call it a bullshit story because of what Islam actually teaches. Neither Greater or Lesser Jihad condone this kind of a behaviour. 

 

1. Greater Jihad the personal spiritual struggle or effort of every Muslim to follow the teachings of Allah (God) in their own lives e.g. overcoming things such as anger greed, pride and hatred; forgiving someone who has hurt them; working for social justice.

2. Lesser Jihad the struggle to build a good Muslim society; also Holy War (the struggle to defend against oppression; with force if necessary). <---- This is what people take out of context and use as the argument that it's all about Jihad. 
 

The latter of what you said, however, I agree with. Just because the religion teaches both forms of Jihad to be good and not, well, like what happened in Paris, people are still going to take it well out of context. Though, I wouldn't say that it turns good people into bad people. I'd more go along the lines of it turns uneducated people into bad people. Meaning, it turns those even not fully educated about their own religion into killers.

Do you have a source? I'm not saying you're wrong but Swedish newspapers are claiming that they where linked to ISIS, but then again, Swedish newspapers blame everything on either ISIS, North Korea or Russia. No matter what... Always before anything actually has been proven they claim things so I don't know, I'm just curious.

To anyone that is stupidly thinking in their little head that all muslims are bad, they're not.

 

I myself am not muslim, i'm actually an athiest. But I still understand that the muslim religion is one of the largest out there, full of kids and adults. Just imagine if people started to discriminate against your religion just because of a few idiots that go around killing people?

 

I remember seeing hundreds of posts after the Lee Rigby muder in the UK on Facebook saying things like...

" All muslims need to die! "

" Gonna kill every muslim I see! "

 

As to which I replied to them statuses with long paragraphs explaining why the person writting that status is more of an idiot than half of muslims... and let me tell you, I didn't get very nice replies from them people I called idiots! I remember one person saying

 

" U wot lad who u talkin to lad i'm gonna break your f*kin legs ladd "

I also love it when people say that muslims don't know how it is to fight in wars, ect.

 

When actually 500,000+ muslims fought in the First World War for the UK.

Don't even go there. this was extremists, there is extremists in every religion. Don't blame this on the muslims because they have not done anything bad.

I heard that they were from Al-Qaeda from the British news Channel 'Sky News'

I'm not entirely sure though, hence 'apparently'

These are people where torture and things like that should be used again  :(

 

Advocating human rights abuses? Really? The fact that people think torture is okay is far more troubling to me than these random acts of violence. Resorting to brutality and torture is just as immoral as killing random people in the name of a God. And the CIA is already torturing people because of tur'ism. But you'll never see anyone in the CIA stand trial for human rights violations.

Why? As far as I know, there weren't any American victims, and it sure as hell didn't happen on American soil. This is France's problem to deal with. America could, should and probably will, provide assistance, but this is not an American problem.

 

Sorry but you have to wipe out extremists. I mean, they are a danger, will always be a danger.

 

You can't wipe out an ideology. You can kill people by the millions, but an idea will live on. That is the real danger. How we wipe out an ideology is still a mystery...

Well, who decides who is an extremist? And my main point is that you have to destroy the IDEOLOGY behind the extremists. You can kill every one of them out there now, but if the ideology, what they believe in, is still held, you'll continue to have more extremists.

 

What scares me the most about this situation, is the governments' reactions and what this could mean to increased surveillance, internet censorship and media self-censorship.
